With the release of Elvis On Tour the rehearsals...i have to say that this question became more difficult....
Here are the front-runners IMO.... The Jungle Room Sessions Elvis Live On Stage In Memphis Elvis - On Tour Rehearsals Clean Up Your Own Backyard Thats the way it was ( + book) The Jungle Room Session still pips the rest for me. This cd re-vamped my love for late 70's Elvis. In fact opened my eyes to a certain degree....some of the alternate versions on this cd blow away the original release. Listen to Elvis' vocals on 'Its Easy For You' and compare it to the original version. Man...you can hardly hear him on that :roll: The On Tour does come very close. Its never been off my player since it arrived....but there will always be a very special place in my collection for The Jungle Room Sessions. This above all FTD's deserves a standard worldwide release.... Will it ever be bettered IMO ? My 5 favorites studio FTD albums are:
On tour 72 - The rehearsals The jungle room sessions Memphis sessions Spring tours 77 (with the bad cuts sometimes)!!! The Nashville marathon It's shame the Spring tour cd have bad cuts, and the mix sound isn't good. But I like '77, and I hope to have one day a 2 cds-set from FTD, but without the mix by Tocano. 1 on tour sessions
2 jungle room sessions 3 live on stage in memphis 4 dragonheart 5 polk salad annie this list would change for me every other day but so far none have been as good as the jungle room sessions and the on tour sessions , these will be my favourites for a long time yet. -------------------- thank you , thankyaverymuch
