Perhaps the compilation is rare but the tracks on the CD's can be find everywhere.

A good point Henk...but the same can be said for anyting "rare" cd / LP wise. England's HMV Elvis No2 is worth a fortune...but obviously we have all of the songs a hundred times. You still wouldn't sell one for pennies just because you already have the material. CDs are catching up with Vinyl..both in terms of collectors and value. undecided.gif

Through remixing and remastering a song can get a "new" sound; the vinyl recording is the basic as Elvis had it in his mind.
Meanwhile I've transferred my vinyl to CDR to keep the original mix. As far as I know on sets like Franklin Mint - Good rocking tonight (E 75) and on other recent Legacy releases different sound engineers have been working on. I'm sorry to say but I don't recognize everytime the difference in their mixing; besides it became very valuable to buy everything because another sound engineer worked on it.

You're right about certain LP's like Elvis no 2 on HMV; look at Ebay and you find a lot rareties but collecting that way is not for the music but for the limited edition etc.
