Full Version: Did Elvis have plastic surgery on his nose?
Elvis-TheKingsCourt > All Elvis > All Elvis
Melanie
Elvis was a vain man. His clothes were always gorgeous! Yesterday I read on the net that Michael Jackson said: Lisa said me that her father did plastic surgery on his nose too. So, It's not problem because I do too. I saw in many Elvis pics that his nose was a little more delicate and other no. You can see on the pics of the 50 years and others too. I don't know... Maybe Elvis someday did plastic surgery. What do you think about this? Did Elvis some cosmetic surgery? Yes or no?

It's a polemic thread... Many fans don't believe that Elvis did plastic surgery and others yes.

Sorry my english. X)

Hi Melanie,
Your english is just fine ! I always thought about the nose thing also concerning Elvis and not that it matters to me and then again if true I must say the Doctor's work was far and away the best I ever saw ! I must say though that he did at some point but it's so perfect and minor that it never became a public issue.

Best to you Melanie king.gif kicking.gif

Elvis had both his nose and eyes done. He also had his teeth capped early on as well.

around late 1974/early 1975 Elvis got some minor cosmetic surgery; as stated eye-lids and teeth.

ah but the real question is did he have them changed or did he have them put back to how they where ? and how big a job was the surgery ? does anyone know ?
NightRider
Alot of what is said is simply rumoured Melanie. I don't think i have seen conclusive proof anywhere that he did have plastic surgery. Some say that he did...but where is the proof ? Now i am not saying he didn't....as I really don't care whether he did or not. I just haven't seen anything to make me believe he did. Books are all very well...but we all know how much truth there is in some of the books that is out there. I want proof personally... undecided.gif

Its up to the individual anyway. I personally wouldn't have it done...but to each their own... undecided.gif

If you look at him in the aerly 50s to the 70s his nose looks more spread out across the bridge... in later years it looks like he had it mad a little slimmer.

Yes, Elvislady! You wrote what I wanted to write indeed...

Actuality! I never saw documents talking about Elvis's cosmetic surgery. Can be rumor too. It's a mystery... undecided.gif

I've read that he had some cosmetic surgery done in the mid 70's, I have no reason to doubt that. I would have been more suprised if he never had any "fine tuning" done, as all celebs seems to undergo some surgery now and then.
If it was medical reasons (Broken nose, other problems) or pure cosmetic reasons I don't know.

I've always been under the impression that Elvis never had a nosejob... it's some bullcrap story someone made up. His amazing profile never changed, which I think would've had he had something done for his nose.

There are pretty clear stories about the mid 70's "plastic surgery" though. If I remember correct, done somewhere between June and July '75 tours but I don't think it was any major operation... I believe it was only a very small one just to remove the bags under his eyes, and a little 'lift' around the eyes. In pictures from that time I see very little, if any difference at all in his appearance...
NightRider
Still not convinced. Been looking through pictures...and yes..his features change a little from time to time...but i still don't see anything concrete...maybe its just me tongue.gif

I have read many times that Elvis was admitted to hospital sometime in 1975 for cosmetic surgery. In a book i read (by Larry Gellar i believe) he stated he was asked by Elvis to cut his hair and before he got started Elvis moved his hair from behind his ear to reveal some stitches and told Larry he had cosmetic surgery done. This is the only time i can remember reading about anything like this and certainly not any nose work.

I think it was just Jackson using Elvis as an excuse to all his cosmetic surgery,or maybe Lisa just making it up to make Jackson feel better about himself one time.

hi melanie ,

yes , elvis did have some nose work done in the early 50's but it was minor , he also paid for friend george klien to have some work also . i think they refernce this in the memphis mafia book and also red west book to as we'll . it has been a while since i have read them . if you take a real early 50's elvis pic and then a late 50's you will see the difference , the bridge is smaller , he almost had a boxer nose and then he had it slimmed down . hope this helps , randall

Insecurities & Face-lifts
Even when the King became a musical sensation, his insecurities persisted. At the age of 40, Elvis asked Klein to join him in getting cosmetic surgery.
"GK, you and I are going to get face-lifts," Elvis said when he called Klein to Graceland in 1975.
"Elvis, you've still got the face of a Greek god," I said. "Why in the world would you have a face-lift?"
"If we just have a little bit done now, we don't have to have a lot of work done later," the King responded.
So Elvis and Klein got mini-face-lifts in Memphis. Elvis insisted on paying for both.
"I have to admit, Elvis was right," Klein writes. "The mini-face-lift slowed down the aging process."

EIN: In 1975 Elvis had the eye-lift in Hospital. Do you think it changed his looks and is it true that you tried to talk him out if it?

Billy: Yes, Elvis had the eye lift, and Linda, Jo, and I stayed with him at the hospital. Yes, I did try and talk him out of it. He didn't need it, he looked great. How do you improve perfection? The doctor even told him that. But, he wanted it, so he got it! I don't think it changed his looks that much.

Both Dr.Nick and the plastic surgeon, **Dr.Asghan Koleyni, try to talk him out of it, but he insists, threatening to have another doctor perform the procedure if they won´t.

I don't think we'll ever know either way. Pictures can lie, maybe the lighting is different, the angel is different and so on. And the stories that are being told are sometimes less than credible in other areas, so why should we believe them on this.
I've read that Elvis had some stuff done, nose, eyes and teeth, but it's not important to me. And like someone said, if he did have it done, they did a very fine job of it.

On the same note I remember seeing an interview with J.D.Sumner who said, that Elvis told him to have a facelift. Elvis wanted to go into surgery with J.D. but J.D. told the doctors very bluntly NOT to let Elvis in. He said he was scared that Elvis would have made the doctors remodel J.Ds face too much. laugh.gif laugh.gif

MORE ABOUT THE EYE OPERATION..by SONNY WEST
...... in his book STILL TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS (2008) page 301-302

One day in Mid-June (1975) Elvis called me into his bedroom at Graceland and introduced me to a Dr. Asghar Kileyni.
Then Elvis asked, "Sonny, do you notice anything different about me?"

I didn't notice anything, but because Elvis obviously wanted me to see something, I said,
"Yea, but I'm not exactly sure what it is."

"Look into my eyes," Elvis said, smiling. Contact lenses I couldn't put my finger on anything.
Finally, Elvis pointed underneath his eyes and told me the doctor had excised some fatty tissue.

Then he pulled his Ears forward
so I could see the incision marks where he'd had his double chin tightened.
I really didn't notice much difference, but I complimented Elvis anyway.

About a month later, I got a letter from BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD
~ Denying coverage (Insurance) of Cosmetic Surgery I had done at Mid-South Hospital.

Trouble was, I hadn't had any cosmetic surgery,
I went to Vernon Presley, and he said I shouldn't worry about it.
What had happened, of course, was that Elvis had checked into the hospital under my name.

Again thanx, Rex.
