The original version was recorded on 6 july 1955 by Al Hibbler (Decca 29660). This version starts with the two verses as mentioned above.
There’s probably an older version recorded in february 1955 by Blackwood Brothers Quartet (Blackwood Bros 1188). This version is not available.
