Hi All!!

I just got myself a copy of a DVD called The Rock and Roll Years by Rock Milestones.

While playing it i noticed some colour footage of either a live or maybe studio try performance of Love Me Tender in colour!!!

Does anybody know anything about this footage as i have never seen it or heard of it before.

here are a couple of screenshots:

I'm almost 100% sure that this is from Elvis' first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, 9/9/56. Does he wear a guitar for the first few lines, then takes it off and twists his lips?

It's been rumoured that these shows were shot in colour, but the screenshots look colourised to me... Is it the only song like this on that DVD?

this is just a small clip Michael...but i went to check the Bonus Features and watched the performance (in b/w)you're referring to and yes i must say it is the same footage and it probably is only colourized in there.

Thanks for clearing it up and sorry for the fuss lol i am not very familiar with the TV footage i haven't seen much of it until now

That footage been colorized. The colors looks like that when colorized. Ed Sullivan was never shot in color in the 50s. If they have they have release them by now.

I just recently got a dvd I think it's "Elvis: His Early Performances" that has this exact same segment on it. I thought it looked pretty cool. It started out in b/w, then went to color then back to b/w
