This has just played on my jukebox, and i gotta say it surprised me abit just how good this was, this is the type of song that could be used on a future duets project [if we get one] its an obscure enough track to surprise people and Elvis sings it well, with the right artist choice it could do well.

Don't know why a duet would be good myself. Would love to see the song re-released as a potential single with just Elvis. Just my opinion. :0)

PLEASE, no duet albums. Elvis' work is what it is.

As far as "It's Only Love," IMHO, this is a very underrated gem. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif) It is really a great rock sound for the early 70's. Elvis is really sounding good on it and the arrangement is fresh and current, for that time. It's too bad it did not get more air play and better respect. It may have helped if Elvis included it in the song list either in Vegas (Aug. 71), Vegas (Jan 72) or even featured it on the November 71 tour.

Yes it is a real hidden gem , i think i first found it on the 80s SOUND OF YOUR CRY release, if they want to release a more contempery cd this year perhaps they could focas more on these rarer gems, imagine them with brand new arrangements too, i would love to hear em ........

Yes my friend, "Beyond the reef" was the b-side... a rather strange combination, but it worked!!
Does anyone know how it came how that single charted so good? Special promotion? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/undecided.gif)

I have to agree here too, just like the three solo Elvis "re-worked" tracks on the Christmas duets album.
They are fresh and updated!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/notworthy.gif)

The song was under my radar for years, I think it was Chris or Steve "Swedish" that opned my ears to the song. But Im not so sure if it's the perfect song to fornt in a new Elvis album. I thins it's the type of song you will love or dislike.

Agreed, the last thing we need is more "duets".

It was promoted quite well, this was a single pulled from the multi LP Box set "Elvis Aaron Presley", I think it might have made number three in the singles chart in the UK

I have a spooky feeling there was a 12 inch version of the single as well and I think I've got it.

A strange mix for a single but it got Elvis a No 3 place in the UK Singles Charts.
I preferred Beyond The Reef.
This track was played more than the A side It's Only Love in pubs on the juke boxes.

I have always loved this track ever since I first heard it on my Elvis LP - Elvis In Demand imo the whole album is under rated.
