The first time we went to Memphis....phew...the excitement! We arrived late afternoon and by the time we got booked into the Heartbreak Graceland was closed. But we did walk along to have a look at it...and gazed at it for quite some time...not quite believing that i was actually there. It had been just a dream for so many years to be honest...it was hard to believe that i was actually there.
We signed our names on the wall..and a few for friends at TKC. Then just really enjoyed the evening in the company of people who liked Elvis. It was a very cool feeling to know that everyone at the Heartbreak was a fan.
We were at Graceland as soon as it opened the next morning. Got ourselves some V.I.P tickets and we were first up at Graceland. For most of the way around that day we didn't see another soul. It was only when we went back around ( which you can't do with a regular ticket) that the house started to fill with people. One place sticks out more than anywhere else...The Jungle Room. I must have spent half an hour...just stood there and taking it in. Man i just love that room.
It was an amazing experience. One that i really want to do again....and don't want to have to wait too long. Sadly...at the moment we just don't have the cash. Every Elvis fan deserves to see Graceland. Its something you really have to do. You will enjoy it...much...MUCH more than you can imagine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/notworthy.gif
