I've come across this autograph on a local auction site - or two actually, as the record is signed on both sides.

What do you think - is it the real thing? The record is a German pressing from '57, so it's quite possible that Elvis could have signed it in Germany.

Any advice would be most welcome...

By no means an expert....so i can only give my opinion based on looking at mine, and recalling several tips from when i was looking to buy mine.

If i had say either way, i would say that it doesn't look right to my eyes. The "elvis" just doesn't look right. Most of the time, the way that he joined Elvis to Presley can be the giveaway as to its authenticity...though, of course its never guaranteed. (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/undecided.gif) for me...although its close...doesn't quite look like it should.

Hope that helps Michael.... (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)

I so much saw autographs of Elvis in my life which I am certain that the majority are fake!

Thanks for your answers. Seems the bidders felt the same - the minimum wasn't met and it didn't sell...

for the collectors of signatures I can tell that once the LP Elvis in Concert (released in october 1977) was offered to me with the signature of Elvis.
perhaps he was risen to sign?

by this fake signature the LP cover was damaged in my opinion and not worth a dime.

I once saw the US 1981 "Love Songs" LP on eBay - autographed by Elvis. When I wrote the seller asking how the #%** he figured that had happened, it was quickly withdrawn... (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif)
