i love this show...recording is a bit too fast but i still like it alot...some thought it was a soundboard...but it is not as you can hear the audience very clearly.

@ Gordon, these shows (among them cd 1 of the 1st Profile Box (August 20th 1973 MS) were recorded by RCA with two microphones in the showroom connected to the soundboard. Technicaly you could call them "professional audience recording). As Ernst has stated many times that most of the shows they have from the Jan/Feb '74 engagement are "audiance recordings" I suspect they were recorded the same way.
Luckaly Elvis's own soundengineers recorded also on normal soundboard, which gave us the recording from Elvis's Closing Show. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back to this show. This is by far my favorite and certainly the best show I heard from this engagement. Elvis's often gave the best shows the day before he closed. This show is simply superb and could be a candidate for my next review. -------------------- "How do I get placed in situations like this? I got this cd like 2 days ago and I was very impressed. Great songs espically the oldies that he did, and a great "SteamRollerBlues".

Stefan, thanks for that interesting fact that i never knew. were there other occasions this happened? Scott, I don't know/ I suspect they did the same with the January/February '74 shows. Perhaps they were only intended for recording audience sounds. I for one really like the sound of those recordings (disc 1 of the 1st Profile set is basically a perfect stereo audience recording), as for me they give us more of a"true" sound than regular soundboards. -------------------- "How do I get placed in situations like this?
