Here is Dean Martin singing Night Train To Memphis.
Just wondered if Elvis recorded this song as he liked Dean Martin music.

Looks like no one interested in the title of this song Night Train To Memphis.
I thought Elvis would have tried recording this song.

Frank, I think we would have known if Elvis recorded the song.

It's not Dean Martin at his best though. :-) Short song at under 2 minutes. Elvis should have done it just because of the title.

Coincidentally I'm reading Jerry Lewis's autobiography his time with Dean Martin and how they broke the partnership. Good move for Dean though.

Jerry Lewis said, "(Elvis) was one of the nicest young men I had ever met".

Jerry Lewis became far too silly in his "solo" movies. Yet in later life was quite a fine actor.

With this link you'll find a discography & recording sessions dates for records made by Dean Martin.

There are more songs both recorded by Dean Martin and Elvis like:

28-03-50 - I don't care if the sun don't shine (Capitol 981);
22-05-57 - Write to me from Naples (Capitol 3752);

Everybody loves somebody is a one-liner sung in concert in 1970 when Dean Martin was present but the song is not an original by Dean Martin but recorded for the first time by Peggy Lee on 20-11-47 (Capitol 15151). On her turn Peggy Lee covered the song Fever from Little Willie John and Elvis followed the Peggy Lee arrangement. In this way you can make a very very long list by covered songs.

I've looked for more infomation about this song:

The song was recorded for the first time on 28-04-42 by Roy Acuff and released on Okeh 6694 & Columbia 20054. Rumoured to be performed by Elvis in 1954 on tour or Hayride. At this time the Elvis' catalogue wasn't big so Elvis regarly sung songs from others from that time>> remember Tweedle dee - Little mama - Fool fool fool - Shake rattle and roll - Money honey etc..

I have tried to listen to Dean Martin. I know alot of Elvis fans like his stuff ( as did Elvis himself).....sadly though..for the most part at least...he does nothing for me. He is a great vocalist..of that i can't argue....there is just something different to it when Elvis sings....that Dean just doesn't have. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused.gif)

This track is not the one you play every time.
If you notice Dean's voice on all his records sound the same-ish.
I thought this track Night Train To Memphis was mention in one of Elvis's biography's.
Elvis's voice changes on all his recordings.
