1. Where was Elvis's last concert?

Indianapolis, In (Market Square Arena)

2. In what City was Elvis married?

Las Vegas, NV

3. Where was Elvis's first Concert folowing his 1969-1970 Las Vegas Comeback?

Houston, TX (The Astrodome, February 27, 1970)

4.Where was the Circle G ranch located?

Horn Lake, MS

5.Where was Elvis's first live concert?

Memphis, TN. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

The Bon Air Club, as far as I know (a couple of weeks before the Overton Park Shell show).

Unless you're counting the 1945 Mississippi-Alabama Fair...

6. Where was Elvis and Priscilla's first home following their marriage?

Um...Graceland?

Well, that and the one on Hillcrest in Beverly...Hills, that is...

7. Where did Vernon Presley's second marriage take place?

Hell?

Either there or Huntsville, AL. Can't remember which.

Not really a fan of the crazy woman he married...

8. In which City did Jailhouse Rock premiere?

Memphis?

Or was that "Loving You"?

Hmmm...

9. In what City did the "Welcome Home, Elvis" television show take place?

Miami, FL (Miami Beach, actually)

10. In what City did Love Me Tender Premiere?

Memphis?

Shoot.

I don't recall.

Oh, wait: the huge marquee banner and all that: NYC!

How could I forget?

11. What City was the next location on the Concert Tour that was cancelled following his death?

Portland, ME was the first location.

12. Where was Elvis's first concert outside the United States?

Tricky.

The answer I'd probably favor is the obvious one -- April 2, 1957 in Toronto's Maple Leaf Gardens -- but I've always wondered why Hawaii, in November of 1957, isn't counted.

Hawaii didn't become a US state until 1959 and for 60 years before that was a Territory, being annexed during a pretty blatant act of imperial aggression that ever since soured a good many people in Hawaii against the US. Justly so, given that the beloved Hawaiian Queen was imprisoned; US actions and attitudes toward Hawaii were pretty awful, as they were later regarding the people of Micronesia who were shifted here and there so the US could nuke the #@&% out of their atoll homes...not a lot of really proud moments there for the "USA!USA!" crowd.

One Elvis connection here was that the Queen composed "Aloha Oe." Adding to her stress over the overthrow of her nation and being locked up, a very young Colonel Parker, then Private Parker, visited her and demanded she sign over half of her publishing on the song. Anyway, I'm not sure whether a Territory is formally considered a part of the United States, but I have always sort of wondered about this with regard to the usual claim that Elvis only performed (other than in Paris clubs, etc, perhaps) overseas in Canada.

Da kine.

By the way, I just looked up information about US territories and it's all pretty bogged down in legalese, the answers apparently depending on a lot of things (including who's asking them) and it seems even the Supreme Court has had trouble deciding whether, even if they BELONG to the US, territories are PART of the US. And, of course, in practice (as with Caribbean possessions of the US versus Hawaii and Alaska and earlier pre-state states) even the formal definition that the government seems to go by can be applied fully or only partially. Basically, though, any territory under the control of the US government is considered part of the United States for purposes of law. So does this mean that Elvis played outside the United States in 1957 when he played Hawaii? Well, probably not, then. But maybe. Unlikely. But maybe. Probably depends who you ask. We should get the Supreme Court on this. It's not like they've done much of anything else useful in the last decade or so.
