Does anyone know if Elvis performed "Let It Be Me" during his August 1970 Summer Festival, and if he did, was it captured on film by MGM?
I always thought this would make a great alternate to "Can't Help Falling In Love" as a show closer......... -------------------- "Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem" -Ronald Reagan (Jan. 20, 1981) |

Right now we don`t have any audio proof that Elvis did this song.
But he did 58 shows this L.V.season and only 17 are captured on tape and availible at the mo. Of course there is a chance he did this song..who knows..?? -------------------- |

Sadly, Elvis never performed this song after the Jan/Feb 1970 Las Vegas engagements. With the exception of the first week during the August 1970 engagement, he would only alter the song list slightly.
This is another song that suited him both vocally and style -wise, and I tryly wish he'd kept this one around for the later years as well. |

Very cool track....and suprisingly or not...one of my favourites. Sung superbly...and as already has been mentioned...is a shame that it didn't appear more often.
It is suprising that Elvis didn't really consider changing Can't help falling in love. Not that there was anything wrong with it of course. There are several live versions that i like better than the original. There are though, many songs that he could have tried ending with. Impossible Dream is a good example of this...and i think that would have made a terrific ending track. -------------------- |
