A female star of the Grand Ole Opry.....Later a regular on the U.S. 70's Country Music TV Show called "Hee Haw".

Always wore a hat with the $1.98 price ticket still hanging from it.

Minnie Pearl, who is no longer with us

OK, Elvis recorded these songs

Polk Salad Annie
For old times sake
I've got a thing about you baby

And a one liner of:

Rainy night in Georgia

Which song writer wrote them?

in november 1948 the Presley family moved from Tupelo to Memphis; in this month there was no farewell concert.
songs performed in school time were all speculations because people don't remember such details after so many years. current hits from that period are possible.
it's a pity but I cann't answer the question.

I will continue the questions with the next question:

in which year (mentioned date and place) did Elvis visit the U.K.

Answer: That must have been March 2nd, 1960 when his plain makes a stop for refueling in Preswick, Scotland.

New question: Who were in the line-up of The Imperials during Elvis' very first Las Vegas season in 1969?

the answer is:
Armond Morales - Roger Wiles - Jimmy Murray - Terry Blackwood.

the next question is somewhat difficult:

John Davenport (co-writer of the song " Fever") is a pseudonym for which well known composer?

I have a different line-up in my book. It says that just before Elvis' return to the stage Sherrill Nielsen left The Imperials. Now it was Jake Hess, Jim Murray, Gary McSpadden and Arnold Morales.

The answer to your question is: Otis Blackwell.

I found the answer on page 275 in Recordings sessions III (Tunzi);
perhaps Tunzi is wrong.

your answer to my question is right;

I think the next question is not difficult:

who was the first singer (male or female) who sang a duet with Elvis?

(no backing vocal group to mention!!)

In this March of Dimes promotional photograph, Elvis Presley receives his polio vaccination in 1956. The Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History will mark the 50th anniversary of Jonas Salk’s introduction of a successful polio vaccination with “Whatever Happened to Polio?,” a one-year display scheduled to open on April 12, 2005, the anniversary of the announcement of an effective vaccine.
