I'm not really interested in this set partly because there is hardly anything new and partly because I feel ripped off in the first place that I should have to buy this set again.

I think once again they're aimed at the non Elvis nut not really going to appeal much to freaks like us

I haven't got them.....but I'll put them on my christmas list.
I'm not sure if they are worth me buying them.
Has anyone got them on here?
Is there anything different on them to the deluxe versions?

Thanks
Lorraine

I bought them when i was recommended to by a friend. I can't say that i regret that - so i guess i would say go for them.

They have small amounts that were not on the delux versions. I also believe that the sound on the Aloha is better than on the box set. Maybe thats just me, but i am convinced on that

I bought them at a fairly good price:14€ each.

Not a bad investement,to me.

Ofcourse, the bonus stuff should have been on the Deluxe editions in the first place, but BMG's strategy to make more mony works again.

The NBC special has a new edit,it's a mixed grabb of best offs from the Deluxe special, combined with original stuff.
Finally "It hurts me" in it's place!!
It's fresh to watch,in fact a liked it alot!!
The inclusion of the "Baby what you want me to do" from the stand up shows is really cool and in it's place.
The minor thing is that "One night" is inclomplete.

Extra is a photo gallery with some cool pics, nice.
The easter egg contains three takes from "It hurts me" notincluded on the deluxe set,and therefore nice to watch.

The Aloha disc looks redone to me too,the quality in image and sound is improved a great deal.
Man,that guy looked good!!
The bonus section includes five takes of the "after program",nicely edited.

Also extra is cool pic gallery with some great backstage and Vegas shots.
The easter eggs section is full of press conference stuff(at least the bitts they have) from Vegas 72 and Hawaii 72.
Very interesting stuff, but a shame they don't have the complete thing.
Perhaps it's something for the next re-issue.
An alternate view from Elvis arrival round this section up.

I bought the deluxe before and was happy with it.
This is a mainstream release at a cheap price but hardcore fans will find enjoyement in it too.

In fact, both sets go nice together.

Elvis at a high peak, nothing beats that!!

Thanks for this review Johan

Like I said, I will buy them ... but at € 18,00 a piece I find it a little bit too expensive.

Cool reviews, Johan.

I have already bought The '68 Comeback Special, but I haven't watched it yet.
And as soon as I'll find Aloha From Hawaii, I'll buy it.

The first DVD release, by Lightyear, missed the "Are you lonesome tonight"
The boxset (that was supposed to have it all) missed the "It hurts me" both in the show and in the out-takes
The new one-single disc has cut "One night"...

Call me a whiner if you like, but I bought all three and would hope that one of them would be complete... but NOOOO....
NOT ONE...

Can't they ever do one thing rigth at least once?
Man, three strikes, you're out.

Are these two DVD's available on Region 2 ?
I looked at the 68 Comeback DVD and saw it was Region 0.
I didn't buy it because of that.
I don't have a multi-region player.

"Region 0" means that it's region free, so it'll play on all DVD players.

In my opinion, both DVD's are pretty cool, but there was one thing that I was very dissapointed with the Aloha DVD.
"Also Sprach Zarathustra" was edited out.
I consider it to be a big part of the "Elvis experience", so in my opinion, it was not a very nice thing to do....

THREE times for the 68 Comeback and TWO for the Aloha Special.

They must be having a party... those EPE people, with all the money they make from us.

Now, mark my words: They'll release another 68 Comeback version in 2008 (40th anniversary) (funny, if you press shift 4, you get $, coincidence? hehehe) and they'll say it has EVERYTHING, promise!

Yeah, right...
But the worst thing is: I will buy it.
Not because I am rich
Not because I am gullible
But because I am a nice guy.
I keep hoping they'll do it right, eventually, and I DO want to see it, completely done right.
I always give them a chance.
Man, they should thank ME and give it to me free, hehehe

I know with the lightyear releases they couldn't get
copyright for certain songs.

Theres no excuse for the other releases.
