Got my copy of the Promised Land Re-Issue CD today and Chris, you're absolutely right, the sound is teriffic. The "Bonus Songs" seem to have been very well chosen and fit with the original album nicely.

Always felt Promised Land was one of E's best 70's studio albums and this re-issue confirms it for me. I could shoot myself for waiting this long to buy it.

If you haven't picked this up yet, do yourself a favor and get it. Here is the complete track list:

Promised Land
There's A Honky Tonk Angel
Help Me
Mr. Songman
Love Song Of The Year
It's Midinight
You're Love's Been A Long Time Coming
If You Talk In Your Sleep
Thinking About You
You Asked Me To

BONUS TRACKS

Loving Arms
I've Got A Feelin' In My Body
If That Isn't Love
She Wears My Ring
My Boy
Spanish Eyes
Talk About The Good Times
Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues

The early CD versions were terrible Curtis (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Flat sound...with elvis barely hearable....why would you even want such versions (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/ermm.gif)

My first cd edition of the original Promised land was the Japanese version, pretty good i say!!

This re-issue is a nice touch, the bonus songs work good with the originals, the sound is very good too!!

Most Japanese releases are Johan, totally agreed there (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/cheers.gif)

Curtis, the upgraded version blows the socks of anything previously released...really is worth a listen (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)

How does the sound of this compare to the Graceland box (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/ermm.gif) i know it does'nt contain bonus ... just wondered.
I know many peeps who are disappointed with the Graceland sound (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
