i have takena listen through all of it one time. the sound is flat, and Elvis's delivery of songs is'nt too good as he has a cold, his voice cracks a few times. the real reason to get this cd is for rare versions of 'only believe' and 'snow bird'. for that, it is essential (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/00000407.gif)

Exactly, the rare live versions make this essential, an average overall cd in the FTD catalogue as a whole, worth buying, but not at the top of the list, get it if you have most of the others, but there are better ftd choices, Al

In my opinion, The Impossible Dream is a great release from FTD.
I really enjoy listening to it, although I have to admit that some of the songs seem a bit "rushed".
But after all, there really isn't that many soundboards available from 1971...

So if FTD decides to release another soundboard from '71, I know I'll be the first one in line to buy it.

Everyone says that the bonus tracks are worth the price alone.
Could be,but not for me.
Since i already had them on imports those are not so essential anymore.

The real stuff is a totaly new concert wich is not released earlier on import.

The show itself is rushed,Elvis sounds good, but can do better, but it's all new!!
And that's the main thing.

The sound is flat, true, but nice to hear!!

There are great versions of "It's now or never" and "Release me",rare songs in 1971.

I like this FTD,it's not one i'll play all the time, but it's great FTD came up with a new concert, even with a duplication of bonus tracks.

Although I like the cconcert featured on this cd, it sounds to me like a '76 show in a '71 jacket. It's not only the cold, he's bored and disinterested during this 1st '71 Vegas season (with the exception of a few shows later durning the season.)

Love the lyric changes in It's Now Or Never and Release me though !!!

don't forget that these recordings hadn't a commercial purpose; they were recorded for various reasons without the intention for a public release.
from these years 1969-1972 are not so many soundboards to choose a good one.

addition:
track 1-2>> Opening theme - That's all right are wrong dated; the right date is 27-01-71 midnight and previously released on import cd "All things are possible".

Glad to have this 1971 release by FTD. But for me, it's not one of my favorites. Don't quite know why. I do like having Only Believe, Snowbird, and Impossible Dream as the closer. I prefer this version where he and the Imperials are singing they way they are rather than when he sang it with the Stamps.
