Love the Middle Eastern flavor on many of the songs. So Close, Yet So Far(From Paradise) is a classic.
One of my favorite soundtracks. -------------------- Founder/President of the EPE Doesn't Own the Footage of "Elvis On Tour" Society.

While the movie itself is entertaining and "fun" for the time period, I don't think the songs in the movie are that bad either. This is a nice release which I play from time to time.

Glad to know i'm not alone on this!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/notworthy.gif)
Together with Acapulco i rate them very high,in fact higher then some 50's movie soundtracks... Why,they sound different, has an own style and are very well sung by our guy. Pure amusement and stunning ballads. But i do wish i could listen to the masters in pristine qualty, there is still work to do by BMG/Sony... -------------------- |

Listened to it once again today...
As mentioned before, the outtakes are crisp and clear... The masters... well... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/undecided.gif) Hard to compare with earlier releases. The Double Features are fine, the Franklin Mint version not bad, these FTD masters are pretty decent.. But the absolute BEST sound as it goes for the masters is my original vinyl copy, i transfered it to cd, but still... the warmth, clearness and depth of that original pressing has never been bettered. -------------------- |
