Special bonus: 29. An "after season" interview with John Wilkinson, by Tony Prince from Radio Luxembourg, held in Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, September 8, 1972. ___________________________________________ Very good audience recording from the midnight show from the 23TH august 1972 date. The last three songs are from another date to make the expierience more complete, altough the sound isa bit poorer on them. The main date recordings sounds good,as all the Straight arrow releases before. The booklet is well done, classy pics and info, top notch stuff!! (The inlay pic is so nice i'll give it along!!) The show itself is very tight,as all the 1972 ones,he's really into singing. Higlights are the fairly "new" versions of "My way" and "What now my love",still searching for the perfect arrangement from 1973 but already with greatness in it. A good cd with a nice bonus part by John Wilkinson. Gives you a great idea about the timeframe!! One to get!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/notworthy.gif)

Inded another excellent show from this solid Las Vegas Stand.
One of the better audience recordings I've heard. My Way is a treat, but still perfer those versions from '76-'77 over them, but still nice to hear in 1972. |

Every now and then an "old" cd visits my player.
This one stayed in three times in a row! What a show!! I always have loved those tight '72 shows, and this one is no different. For an audience-tape it has a very, VERY clear quality. Actually a "being there" feeling.. Dig it out friends, play it and agree Elvis was Red and hot in this show!! -------------------- |
