-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

" I'd like to say it's a pleasure to be back in Atlanta. No, I'm only kidding, I'm only kidding. Just my warped sense of humor ..."(after I Got A Woman - Amen)

" I'm gonna ask James to play the guitar at the back of his head, because ehh that's how he first started " (introducing James Burton)

" Blue Christmas? Ok. Blue Christmas in August .. Ok " (getting a request for Blue Christmas after That's All Right Mama)

Elvis's August/September '76 tour is not known for it's great concerts. This concert is no exception. The show is slow, Elvis sounds tired and many songs are performed below average. And I love You So and America, The Beautiful are performed as good as always and That's All Right Mama and Blue Christmas (featuring Elvis on acoustic guitar) are performed well too. Shame that the tape recorder seems to have had some problem during those last two songs. Elvis is quite talkative during this show and seemingly in a good mood which is always a good point. When a fan requests That's Allright Mama Elvis's seems more than happy to do it. When a male fan can be heard thanking him Elvis simply replys with a "sure" ~ that says it all!!

I've heard far worse shows, but countless better ones. The sound on this release is fantastic (like on "Old Times Are Not Forgotten", the show from the day before).
Not an essentieel release, but if you're a 70's fan it should be in your collection, if only for the great sound.
