Hi
I think we still have a problem about other parts of the Elvis TKC forum ! Firstly... the links on the HOME PAGE are really part of the Site Navigation.... (which is why you have a Site Navigation Page) Most fans arriving via the Home page, will click on ALL ELVIS. They have no reason to go back to the other links......... Lets face it.... a lot of the other Sections ... DO not have Posts or Comments every day. (or in the last 24 hours shall we say) Members and Visitors need something that tells them New Info~Posts have been placed in those sections recently. Then they have a reason to go back and click on the other links. -------------------- |

EXTRA some fans skip HOME PAGE and THE SITE NAVIGATION PAGE arriving in the Forum all Topics page. (I've been doing some research into what other members use "BOOKMARKING" various sections of the ELVIS TKC Site) So it would seem something needs to change on a lot of other ways Members and Guests access the info... Should COL. SNOW just have a small handful of new views, because no one has noticed his Efforts.... While an off-topic about postmen gets 80 odd Views...... THIS IS AN ELVIS site First so all Elvis topics in all forums should have better access First..... SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG ABOUT THIS ...... -------------------- |

Its the strange thing about Elvis forums Rex, sadly. So many people view the board...the topics. You would be suprised how many visitors we actually have over a week. Very few are actually big posters. Its always been that way.
I don't think its the fact that they are "not aware" of new posts either....its boils down to the fact that there is probably only about 20 regular posters.....the reason ? I have no idea. I wish i knew. Colonel Snow ( Henks ) efforts don't go un-noticed...well not by me at least. There will be more links on the homepage when i get chance to review it. But in all honesty...i don't see it making a difference. But at least we are trying... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/undecided.gif) -------------------- |

There are not too many posters posting, then people don't post. People dont post because there are not too many posters posting haha! Makes no sense I know. And worse ...some of the answers are always the same ... I agree .. and things like that. This forum has great sections like the jumpsuit and rare photos but those sections will not really generate a lot of posting.. i'm not trying to put down this forum, mine is worse haha -------------------- |

And I agree with others that it is very professional, clean and............. so Elvis. -------------------- "The man who can sing when he hasn't got a thing is the King, of the whole wide world." |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/undecided.gif) I haven't been talking about the amount Members are posting.. at the moment that doesn't bother me.... (I just think if they do thats a Bonus) Its the amount of VIEWS a TOPIC Gets.... When you post on the out fringes, HOLLYWOOD MAGIC, my ELVIS LIVE EXPERIENCE, COL SNOWS Various Single Album releases... we need MEMBERS, VISITOR, AND GUESTS to be aware that these areas have been upgraded. I have Topics and posts, on these outer forum areas, that have struggled to get 20 views.... You start thinking, run everything in ALL ELVIS because it will get 100 views + very quickly... then a month or so afterwards, have it moved to the Archive sections. -- If these sections Flashed with some sort of Graphic in red or whatever... fans viewing the site would know something extra has been added in sections other than ALL ELVIS. I've seen this done on other sites, and it makes you curious you might be missing something, when its flashing at you... so you click on it... ANOTHER up-dated LINK. ok I know Chris, this is a forum... and they put the NEW on and leave it on for days and weeks... and I'm looking for NEW for 24 hours only, for every time a Post-topic is added, so it needs updating every 24 hours. So shall I run everything in ALL ELVIS and we move it later.... is that easier ? -------------------- |

Love the idea Rex...however telling the website to post a "new" icon when we have new posts isn't something that you can do...or at least i don't think so. I could of course add a flashing new wherever,..but it would have to be manually added and then removed. An idea that might work ... but needs some thought.
I still think that they would look anyway. The forum has its own way of saying whether there are new posts as i am sure you know...with the colours of the Elvis icons down the left hand side of the page. I know that doesn't show up on the main site..and there may be a way of linking the two. Will look into that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/undecided.gif) You will find that the "information" sections of the board rarely get posts. The Jumpsuit section, FTD, Imports etc etc are used for information...a reference if you will. I recall Michael being concerned when he started that section. But soon realised that people were using the sections a heck of a lot...just not posting in them. Which is a shame...as you say. when so much work goes into certain threads/sections. -------------------- |

Can I add my 2 cents here? Okay then...
Most of us that are members of an Elvis (or whom ever) Forum go there to look around, see what is new in the latest topics because others are responding to them on a more personal level. The hard work Chris and his Entourage of Admins and Mods doesn't go unnoticed, we do go look. If we are artistically challenged (I am speaking for myself) all we can do is post that we appreciate their work, effort, artistic abilities, etc... Add it to our collections of information, photos, etc... And go check out other posts to see if one of our Member friends is having a birthday, good news, bad news, latest news in Elvis's World. TKC is easy to navigate even for the computer special education class like me. Though I come here for Elvis, I also come here for the friendship of others who are fans of Elvis. This is more than an Elvis Forum, it's an extended Elvis Family. You will find in all groups there are the leaders, the followers, and then the just visitors. Just know from my point of view as a member, this is my Elvis Home and family. It's all tied together in a terrific package called: The Kings Court. And if you complain about folks coming and just telling you they appreciate some addition you have made in a Topic or whatever and overlooking other things: Personally that is like being slapped. It shouldn't even be mentioned. I get email notifications of replies as I am sure others do also... I click the link and that is the topic I go to first, then I go look at the most recently viewed. It's not just about how much stuff can be put in the forum, it's about the quality of Information and having a great place to find it and make friends. Thanks to Chris and all the other Artistic and Contributing Members of TKC. We do appreciate you. -------------------- "The man who can sing when he hasn't got a thing is the King, of the whole wide world." |

Can't say i have ever had a problem with navigation on TKC. I understand what your saying Rex. But i think its fine as it is. If folks want to look, post, etc. They will. We do (IMG:style_emoticons/default/undecided.gif)

We do (IMG:style_emoticons/default/undecided.gif) I don't want to change the layout of any of the forums.... I just want to add some enhancements... Extra ways ..... In talking to newer members when they first arrive at ELVIS TKC they are overwhelmed by the amount of Areas we have.... and struggle at first to get to grips with things. (and the many Guests each week... which we have no Dialogue with is another problem) I'm just trying to make it easier for them to get into it all faster. Of course if some of the out areas that I post in, are not getting VIEWED .... I can solve that problem myself in a number of ways. CHRIS has added some wonderful Extras to this forum this year... he's thinking about other things, and needs our ideas to get a feel for other directions he might take us in. Thanks "Chris" -------------------- |

Haven't been here for a while as my computer broke down and I had to get an new hard disk for it. So I lost my favorites and just Googled Elvis Kings Court to find the most fabulous pic of Elvis I've seen in ages.
What a fantastic looking page, I must say. Great, great job. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/notworthy2.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/notworthy2.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/notworthy2.gif) -------------------- "You can't yell loud enough to make me shut up!"
