It's been a long time since the importguys released studio material of Elvis that really counts.
From an unexpected corner the Venus label comes up with a great double cd.
I must admitt, i'ts the first release i bought from this label since their earlier releases are re-issues with minor sound upgrade concerts.
This one is different, it's stunning and contains new material never heard before!!

Cd 1 comes from an acetate source,but don't let that fool you,it's very good in sound.
This is the christmas release i dreamed for years,all alternates from that famous may 1971 session.

Cd 2 has alternate and undubbed/extended versions from the "Elvis Today" album.
A real highlight is the stunning sound,wich seems to come from the source(BMG,Sony?) itself.
You are IN the studio with Elvis!!

This double cd is essential.
The Christmas cd is outstanding.
The Today part is an exceptional interesting bonus.
Until now, the best import of the year!!

The first Noel

The master is overdubbed with backing vocals and additional drums (cymbals) and this version is released on Elvis sings the wonderful world of Christmas / If everyday was like Christmas etc.

The master is overdubbed with backing vocals only and this version can be heard on CD Merry Christmas from 1984;on CD Christmas Today the drums/cymbals are present.
