Little Sister

Words and Music: Doc Pomus/Mort Shuman

Lyrics:

Well, I dated your big sister
And took her to a show
I went for some candy
Along came Jim Dandy
And they snuck right out of the door

Ev'ry time I see your sister
Well she's got somebody new
She's mean and she's evil
Like that old Boll Weevil
Guess I'll try my luck with you

Well, I used to pull your pigtails
And pinch your turned-up nose
But you been a growin'
And baby, it's been showin'
From your head down to your toes

Little sister, don't you
Little sister, don't you
Little sister, don't you kiss me once or twice
Then say it's very nice
And then you run

Little sister, don't you
Do what your big sister done

Hank wanted a guitar that would give him a heavy sound, and his guitar was no good,so he went over to Harold Bradley and got a loan of his guitar...and MAGIC was made.

Should have been kept for an A side. (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/notworthy2.gif)

Great track !! Elvis' version is sublime and should have been an A-Side.

Anyone heard Ry Cooders version. Thats different to say the least. (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/undecided.gif)

Good question Jean..though Ive no idea who did come up with the idea...though Id think it was just Elvis and the TCB band improvising and fooling around with songs during rehearsals.

LITTLE SISTER is a great track. I think the guitar influenced CCR's GREEN RIVER in 1969.
