This show is around since 1992 as the decent audiencerecorded "Las Vegas dinner show".
Since then it's been among my favorites because of the "strange" happenings.
This is an upgrade with a capital "U"!!
It's a totaly new source, from a very and i mean VERY good soundquality!!
It's still recorded from the audience, but let that not fool you: you are IN the showroom!!

You hear and feel Elvis struggle to this infamous show, he tries very hard to please the audience.
But his voice fails...we can hear also a very interesting Stamps Gospel section with a highly entertaining Charlie Hodge.
Elvis continues with rare songs and two "Can't help falling in love" versions.
A unique show!!
This show is for the collector a real gem.
We can thank the label enough for this outstanding cd!!
But the real THANKS goes to the recorder of this tape, the fan who shares this piece of history, thanks to him/her we can enjoy the king in very good sound over and over again!!

I was lucky enough to finally get a copy of this Straight Arrow release and i have to say this is a wonderful upgrade to the show i have had on tape for such a long time. The clarity of the recording now makes it clear to hear the problems Elvis was having with his voice that night and although Elvis did leave the stage that night it makes you appreciate that Elvis carried on the show when he could quiet easily of called it a day after returning and finished the show with Cant Help Falling.

Luckily he continued and gave us a couple of nice rarity's and surprisingly a rocking version of Polk Salad. Also heard is a cine camera whirring away which no doubt caught the video which is on YouTube.

The best thing about this release is the audio clarity,so near to a soundboard but without losing the ambience of the showroom and the fans reaction, something rarely heard on soundboard recording.

Another nice thing is knowing this is only one release of more shows which hopefully sound as good as this and i sure hope i can get the other volumes as they come out.

If FTD announced future releases like this i would be very happy to buy them,as it is Straight Arrow have done us proud and released it in a nice package too.Roll on the announcement of volume two.A nice insight into the fans feelings from the time.

As a side note i also want to mention the after show fans comments added to the end of the CD.It was nice to hear the fans concerned about Elvis' obvious health problems and one female fan commented how Elvis had sang the night before "im a sick old Hound Dog",fans who had spent money to see Elvis could easily complained about the show but there was concern and all-round agreement Elvis should cancel more shows as he was not well.
