John Cleese was branded a comedy genius for his role as Basil Fawlty

Maybe its just an English thing Chris, but Fawlty towers is one of the funniest ever. I hope that John Cleese reconsiders, as some of his movies are among my favourites too. Even the slated 'Clockwise' i find great fun.

John is a brilliant actor and writer.
One of todays comedy greats. Sad to hear he stops,but i understand his point. His crowning glorys are Fawlty towers and Monty python,the best comedystuff ever apaered on tv and the big screen. You can move to America and watch him on our PBS stations every Saturday night. Here in Alabama he comes on at 9:00 p.m. my time Fawlty Towers is funnnnnyyyyy. Especially Manuel.

I was never a real big fan of John Cleese or the monty python team but watching the re runs boy did I miss out on some good laughs these guys where superb

Fawlty Towers is a classic but at the same time John Cleese is known for a lot more than just this series so he should be more than happy with what he has achieved both as writer and actor [img]style_emoticons/default/notworthy.gif[/img] [img]style_emoticons/default/notworthy.gif[/img]
