Portions of Farther along - Mean woman blues - Oh happy day before Until it's time for you to go take 6 (CD 2 track 10); we had it before on FTD Easter special with He is my everything take 1.
For some reason the complete master take 2 (lasts 3:20) of Fool is not included. Now we got 3 different mixes of the same song. colonel snow -------------------- |

3 mixes of Fool on CD1 that are 98% identical. Basically they are the same.
On CD2 this idiot included the same take of "Padre" twice! He claimed that take2 and take11 are different, but in fact they are exactly the same! What a shameful person. An amateur. Ernst should have been replaced years ago. He got no eyes for talent, marketing or the younger fans. Just like with most companies, executives should be replaced every couple of years just to keep that feeling with their buyers. Ernst is just not a people's person. He only talks to one or two fanclub owners handing out illegal soundboard to folks that kiss up to him. Nowadays companies should transparent above everything else, something FTD never really accomplished. He doesn't understand that we, all the Elvis fans are the real FTD label. |

Cd 1:The masters are sounding fine, but also nothing more then that.
They miss brightness and a sharp edge imo. I have the first 10 tracks elwhere in much better sound. The way the 3 alternate mixes are presented is much better, so it's weird why not the first part of the cd is in that sound. The single mixes of "Fool/Steamroller" are vintage classics, for nostalgia lovers, like me. But what the hell is "Reconsider baby"? It sounds awful!! I believe it's the vintage mix too, but it sounds miles worse then ever before!! The Aloha songs are good, but i guess these songs will always sound somewhat muffled.. My personal opinion ofcourse...sounds are for everyone different. CD 2: Here is the gold!! The sound is a remarkable improvement of cd 1. As with the Harum Scarum FTD: the outakes blow the masters out of the water soundwise!! Lene Reidel wins from Vic anesini!! The selections are cool, and apart of the error(twice same Padre take) it's a higly enjoyable collection. It's cool to hear that the piano songs are fun to record too, where i long thought EP was in a kinda depressed mood... All in all, this FTD is a good one, but i will rarely play cd 1,and that's a shame. -------------------- |

Haha.
There's an error on CD1,another error on CD2 and another one in the booklet. But FTD will offer a replacement copy only for CD2. Not nice at all... http://www.elvisnews.com/news.aspx/fool-fool/12934 |

QUOTE But what the hell is "Reconsider baby"? It sounds awful!! I believe it's the vintage mix too, but it sounds miles worse then ever before!! I compared "Reconsider baby" in the original mix from "Legendary performer vol 4" with the version on "Fool". The lp version sounds milestones better then the new one...
