A true follow-up or companion CD to the "For The Asking/The Lost Album" CD. This disc collects all of Elvis secular, non-soundtrack songs recorded between 1966 and 1968.

Here's the Track Listing:

1. Too Much Monkey Business
2. Guitar Man
3. Tomorrow Is A Long Time
4. U.S. Male
5. Big Boss Man
6. Love Letters
7. Indescribably Blue
8. Fools Fall In Love
9. Hi-Heel Sneakers
10. Down In The Alley
11. Come What May
12. Mine
13. Just Call Me Lonesome
14. You Don't Know Me
15. Stay Away
16. Singing Tree
17. Going Home
18. I'll Remember You

Some truly outstanding work is featured here, including songs both witten by featuring Jerry Reed on guitar (Too Much Monkey Business, U.S. Male, Big Boss Man & Guitar Man). Reed's distinctive guitar playing stands out a something "new and fresh" on these songs. Elvis clearly enjoyed working with Reed, and Reed's style and songs seemed a good fit for the King. It's a shame that they he and Elvis never worked together again after these few songs were completed......They made a great pairing.

The often overlooked "Fools Fall In Love" is also featured on this CD. This track was written by Elvis' old buddies, Leiber & Stoller, and was first recorded by the Drifters back in 1957. Great lyrics, a swinging/upbeat arrangement and the worlds best vocalist make this an all time favorite of mine.

The hauntingly beautiful title track, "Tomorrow Is A Long Time", finds Elvis officially covering a Bob Dylan penned tune for the first time. I'm no fan of Dylan's, his vocals are among the all-time worst in my opinion, but he sure can write a good song, as is evident here.

There just isn't one bad song to be found on this CD.....I can't recommend it more highly. It presents, in the proper context, where Elvis was as a musician in the mid to late 60's......STILL #1.

If you don't already have this in your collection, you would be doing yourself a favor by seeking it out, you'll be glad you did.

I don't believe it's officially "in print" any longer, but can still be found pretty easily from private sellers on both Amazon and Ebay.

A "Four King Rating" out of Four from me!!!!

A classic that never was Barry. What a shame that it was never released anything near this format all those years ago. Another missed opportunity by the great minds at RCA........ (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/crying.gif)

Terrific album from start to finish..and would be included amongst my favourites too. Nice mini-review my friend (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/cheers.gif)

A really good selection of tracks on this one, from the late '60s. One of those CDs that you can listen to again and again. (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

This is a GREAT release! (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/up.gif) It's too bad that an album of this calibar wasn't released in 1968 or 1969! This album done very well by RCA/BMG, shows that Elvis recorded some outstanding music in the mid-to-late 1960's. I listen to this one often!! This is a MUST HAVE, Brad.....I guarantee you won't be disappointed with this one. I wouldn't wait too long before you pick it up though as it's no longer in print.

Would try to purchase it used from either Amazon, Ebay, or Half.com

Look forward to seeing a review from you once you've purchased this CD and have had a chance to listen to it.

I told ya you'd like it....You just can't go wrong with this one. One of RCA/BMG's better compilation efforts. This one is just GREAT from beginning to end.

Glad you were able to find it and are enjoying it!!!

Yeah it's a great cd!

Awesome song selection!

Loves the singles during the period 66'-68' , many great songs

It should have been more sessions like this in the 60's, so they didn't have to choose movie songs to the original albums.. like they did on Pot luck with elvis and Elvis for everyone..

There aren't any movie songs on the "Pot Luck" album, unless you count "Steppin' Out Of Line", which was recorded for but never used in Blue Hawaii.

I've always felt Pot Luck was a pretty stong, early 60's LP for Elvis!!!

The cd has many great tracks on it, I'm not to familiar with the 60's recordings and never really cared for them but this cd has definitely changed my mind. Elvis' voice sounds just great, kind of raw, but in a great way. I love all the songs but I for sure have a few as my favorites and they are Down In The Alley(GREAT (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/cool2.gif) )Big Boss Man of course, U.S. Male, Too Much Monkey Business, Guitar Man, I'll Remember You, Love Letters, Indescribably Blue, and Fools Fall In Love. These are my favorite tracks off this cd but I really enjoy listening to them all (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif) .

I actually happened to bump into this album, and I probably wouldn't have even bought it if I haven't remembered this thread,
where Barry highly recommended it. So I bought it, listened to it today, and no complaints from me... Excellent album all the way...
awesome tracklisting, and even the cover is great! This album should have been released in back in 1968!

A must have! (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)

Jouni.....Glad you were able to pick up a copy of this CD......Wish we'd see more releases of this caliber on the regular RCA/Sony/BMG label.

Enjoy it, my friend!! (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/king.gif)
