We had this show before as cdr,"Cape finale in Atlanta."(reviewed by Stefan elswhere)
So the show is pretty wel known.
It's a great show, stand out versions, rare songs,a high spitrited Elvis.
He even calls Atlanta lovingly his "second home"!!

But...Rainbow records,for once,delivers a bit less then promised.
They said to have worked with four sources to get this release complete and upgraded.
They added a nice booklet, they worked on the sound too...but i say the sound is about 5% better...
But in a way this is a (small)complaint.
I'm glad to have one of his best 1973 tourshows on a pressed silver disc.
Atlanta loved Elvis and we all do the same.

A great performance, one of his best, but this cd,altough very enjoyable, is for the collector only.
I know we can not always have the greatest sound with these kind of stuff, but the label has a good reputation.
Certainly with the advertising about the "four sources" stuff is this a bit overblown.
I also think some bonus songs from the same year could do no harm to make this cd more "complete".
Still,if you can find it,it's worth the cash.
The show makes up for the lesser sound.

Thanks for the info on this.
It seems that Elvis always had a good relationship in Atlanta. This is a great show from a really good 1973 tour. A really nice song line up with some real solid performances.

it's a pity that the second half of the show looses sound quality; as stated it is taken from more sources.

Im thinking of getting a copy of this release, however some of the reviews i have read seem to say that a new audience tape with improved sound was used but the tape is incomplete and a lesser sound tape is used from around the half way mark.I already have the Cape Finale In Atlanta CDR so what i am wanting to know is the lesser sound tape still an improvement on the Cape Finale CDR or the same quality.

Not sure i want this if it is only half of an improved sounding show.

Soundwise the latter part is not better then the cdr..
I find this cd hard on the ears...i believed the label could improved the sound..

They have not, not that much anyway..

Main thing about this cd is that it's available on silver disc and the show is outstanding.
But as a collector i would advise this only to the "must have all" fan...
