(IMG:http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y180/imleaving/presleyatthehiltonback.jpg) Presley At The Hilton Genre: live recording Format: Audience Recording Sound: Above Average Tracks: 31 Playing Time: Recorded live: Las Vegas, NE, December 5th 1976 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01 Announcement 02 Also Sprach Zaruthustra 03 See See Rider 04 I Got A Woman / Amen 05 Monologue 06 Blue Christmas 07 That's All Right 08 Monologue 09 Are You Lonesome Tonight 10 Monologue 11 Sweet Caroline 12 You Gave Me A Mountain 13 Jailhouse Rock 14 O Sole Mio (by Shaun Nielsen) / It's Now Or Never 15 Monologue 16 Trying To Get To You 17 Fever (incomplete) 18 America, The Beautifull 19 Introductions 20 Early Morning Rain(John Wilkonson) 21 What'd I Say(James Burton) 22 Johnny B. Good(James Burton) 23 Introductions 24 Love Letters(David Briggs) 25 Hail Hail Rock 'n Roll / Intro's 26 Hurt 27 Hound Dog 28 Monologue 29 How Great Thou Art 30 Can't Help Falling In Love 31 Closing Vamp (incomplete) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Notes: This is the infamous "sprained ankle" show. Because of spraning his anke just before showtime Elvis is a) late B) sluggish (to say the least) c) totally not with it. Up untill (and including) Sweet Caroline this show is not even mediocre. After Sweet Caroline the show quality improves and by the time we reach How Great Thou Art it even can be called decent. Not a memorable night for either Elvis or the fans in attandence. * Blue Suede Shoes is missing between Trying To Get To You and Fever -------------------- "How do I get placed in situations like this? Ah hell, I guess it's all part of showbusiness "~ Elvis in his limo on his way to perform in Omaha, NE on June 19th 1977

Am only not sure if that release is a real pressed cd or a silver cdr ? -------------------- "How do I get placed in situations like this? Will have to check this one out again. I haven't played it in some time. From memory, the sound is pretty good for an audience recording....and i thought the show was ok...maybe the memory is playing me up somewhat

Musically and voacally this is simply a bad show, just like I have written above. But, personally I kinda like this concert. It again shows that despite the circumstances and the obvious pain he was in, he wanted the people to get their money worth. Gee, could that be a reason for the man having so many fans -------------------- "How do I get placed in situations like this? While it is true that Elvis had a series of "problems" during this season of shows, yet they were very entertaining. He did a large variety of songs even revisiting "I Just Can't Help Believin," "Sweet Caroline," "Such a Night," "Reconsider Baby," and others. This seemed to carry over into the late December tour of 1976. That tour was arguably, one of his best tours of the later 1970's.

I'd even go as far to say it was one of his best tours of the 70's ~! |
