Hi All (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/hug.gif)

Was wondering if some of you could give me a hand and give this a try American Icon Podcast. This is my first stab at one of these, so very unsure how it will work. I kept the sound quality at a rather high level, so the download could be kinda slow on anything other then the fastest connection. If this is a problem, let me know and I will redo it at lower settings.

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff....Sounds GREAT to me! I like this idea VERY MUCH!!! Will we be seeing TKC Podcasts on a regular basis? Would love to contribute in anyway I can.

This is a very COOL way to distribute special TKC releases..........I am very impressed with what you've done here!

MORE, MORE, MORE!!!! (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/notworthy.gif)

Thanks for the feedback guy's (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/notworthy.gif)

Barry, I was thinking alone that line, using it for some King's Court cd compilation... Maybe some recordings of the radio show. I would love your help, if this is something that more of the members are interested in us exploring.

Chris,

Podcasting is in no way shape or form confined to Macs. It's where it began, but don't let the term "Pod" mislead you. I used 2 Apple only apps to do this (Garageband & iWeb), but with a little looking around the net, I'd be very confident that you would be able to find similar apps. for a windows machine.

btw... Was the download very slow? Is there need to drop down the bitrate of the audio to speed things along?

I'm thinking that a team of Chris, Barry, Jordan, Mark and myself, that this could turn into something very a very fun and intresting project... If all parties are onboard that is.

The relative lack of interest that both this post and the podcast itself have garnered, leads me to conclude that there is little need to continue down this exploratory path. This test is now over.

I would like to thank those who did reply, both for their help and the positive feedback. It is my hope that those who took the time to download/subscribe the podcast... Enjoyed it.

Jeff

Well, I'm sorry to see this innovative idea met with so little feedback, Jeff. I think it is cutting edge and the PERFECT way to distribut special releases to our friends here at TKC.

I too have been frustrated and disappointed with the lack of response on threads.........If you look, you'll note so many threads in the "Off Topic" section receive untold responses, specifically the silly threads like Elvis Alphabet and Complete This, and threds like this get almost no response..... (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/wings_hmm.gif) Disappointing to say the least.

I would still be VERY MUCH interested in working with you on this should you decide to pick this back up......I think it is the wave of the future and thought we'd see MUCH MORE in the way of enthusiastic responses.

I thank you again for offering this to TKC and hope we can, if nothing else, have TKC Podcasts for special events/releases...........You Da Man, Jeff! (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)

It wasn't even up 24 hours and its pulled?
I looked at it twice, hit the play button etc. It looked very professional and I would have enjoyed it more.
I use mp3 constantly but have never had an ipod (never liked the tie-in with iTunes) and am completely unfamiliar with podcasts, how to download etc. Now it seems its too late to ask the questions I wanted to ask.
It's Monday a lot of people are out at work etc., I know I for one have been busy most of yesterday and today.
I don't think less than 24 hours is enough time to judge who was or wasn't interested.

Jeff

I didn't know how to do it and didn't want to look foolish and ask for help. I'm sure it would have been a great success too. I know some of the Members are only able to use a computer at work from Monday to Friday...so maybe if you give it another try?

Sorry to hear that you pulled the plug already Jeff. Sundays is one of the quietest days due to the Radio Show etc, and i would imagine that not that many people have had the time to look at it.

Besides anything else...most people don't even know what they are...i have to say myself included in a way. Maybe if you explained a little more what they could be used for, there would be more of an interest. I know that i was very interested in it, but had no chance to even speak with you about it (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/confused.gif)

I urge you to reconsider mate...at least give it another crack.... (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Jeff has prepared a "Podcast Tutorial", where he explains what a Podcast is.....It's basically a way to distribute music files and/or broadcasts.....and how to access and enjoy the Podcast(s) he's created.......The thread can be found right here in the Off Topic section.

He's also graciously agreed to offer help to anyone who still has questions or has experienced any difficulties with the Podcast after you've watched the Tutorial, which is only a couple of minutes long.

Here is a link to his Podcast Tutorial Thread.........PLEASE give this a try, a TKC Podcast on a regular basis, to me, is very exciting and innovative!!!! The perfect vehicle in which to get to you some GREAT TKC Exclusive Elvis music projects:

Thanks!!!!

Great stuff Jeff and many thanks! Just listened to it right through on my new itunes thingumy bob! A great sound and journey through the music. And a VERY exciting prospect for TKC if these get going - which I trust the will. Would be marvellous addition of alternate covers etc.

Conor,

Thanks so much for that positve post. It warms the cuckolds of my old heart... Or it could be the coffee with a nice size splash of Baileys Irish Cream in it... Yeah, thats more likely the reason. Hey my friend, there are ways around iTunes!! If that's all that's stopping you from podding up, fear not!! Your intrepid friend the Minkey has all the answers a ginger lad like yourself might need (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)
