I have a original "acoustic tile" from American Sound Studios.
it is from the singers booth and was auctioned on the 16 aug 1984 by Bill Glore who owned the studio up to it being demolished. It includes letters signed by Bill (tile also signed on back) and sheets of all the other artists that recorded in the booth.
Every time I play "Back In Memphis" and the out takes I get such a "Buzz" when I look at the tile and think Elvis voice bounced off of it!!

In my opinion it's very pity that Elvis and producer Chips Moman split up due to royalty and that kind of problems; if they had continued their work in the early 70's I believe Elvis was not fallen down from the hitparads in the 70's.

It's true that Chips had a "feeling" for hits..
Altough i rate some 70's work higher then the 69 sessions,Felton Jarvis was more a "yes man" then Moman.

Felton worked good(his overdubbings are sometimes fantastic) but Elvis was the real producer then.

In the other case,Chips leaded Elvis trough a great session.
He knew what he wanted to hear from Elvis.
and Elvis liked that feeling...

Lucky they got the deal trough with "Suspicious minds"....it became one of his greatest recordings and hits.
