Notes:

A very, very good concert from the October '76 tour. Elvis is in a very good mood and very strong voice. The tracklisting is great and the show is enjoyable to hear.

* The band members solo's are not mentioned on the cover.

the original audience recording lasts over 83 minutes should be released on 2 CD/CDr ; the CD is edited>> And I love you so is eliminated although mentioned on the cover.

the sound is very good and the concert is okay.

Interesting reply again, And I Love You So in on my copy as I'm listening to it right now.

All songs mentioned on the cover are there. The only incomplete song (as mentioned above) is "Love Letters". I agree that some edits are audible, but most likely only some "between songs banter" was cut.

If the complete concert lasts over 83 minutes I like to know the source and which song(s) are deleted.

hello stefan

here my answer to your question:
I traded the tape end 70's/early 80's>> I don't register when I got an audio tape but this was the time I got most of the concerts.
In the past I've transferred the audio tape to a CDR and this CDR runs over 83 minutes. The cd lasts over 72 minutes and that's a lot in time.
I think I found the difference in the instrumental solo part including Elvis' introduction of the musician:
Tutt solo - 1:57
Scheff solo - 1:50
Brown solo - 1:15
Briggs solo - 1:12
Love letters - 2:52
perhaps some dialogue was eliminated.
perhaps the CD runs a little bit too fast (it happened before with Chip - Sundial - Groti records)

I have sold my copy of the CD at the time because it was incomplete and the sound was below my tape source. I cann't compare anylonger the CD with my tape source.

this answers declares perhaps the difference.

Thanks ! I have, myself, never came across a CDR of this concert, so the "complete" concert should be still out there then. I'll take it you made a mistake when you said "And I Love You So" was missing ?

Now that you mentioned it, the recording on "Fairy Tales" does sound just a tad fast. can anyone who knows more about such things confirm/deny that ?

by copying an audio tape in a double cassette player on the normal speed there is only loss in the sound quality; but people in a hurry copy audio tapes with double speed and than there comes a little difference;

the next collector copied the tape again with double speed; of course is important which audio player; audio tape is used but when a later generation tape is the source for the CD you have a bad CD.
at this moment a lot can be corrected by computer programs but that was not possible in the 90's or was to expensive for the " import-factory ".
note: a lot of german originated CD-labels were pressed behind the "iron curtain"/eastern europe and has some inferior quality now and then.

I know the audio tape, but this tape turn 1/2 tone too slow. And the CD "Fairy tale" turn 1/2 tone to speed. So the different between both is 1 tone.

The complete show run 79:23 at the right speed.

times without applauses and dialogue:

Tutt solo: 1:43
Scheff solo: 1:32
Brown solo: 1:02
Briggs solo: 0:59
Love letters: 2:37 (musical key in F)

The CD is re-released with the title Royal gambit in Richfield in 2008 on the Straight Arrow label. The sound is improved.
