I counted my official Elvis CD's yesterday and I have 62 CD's and lost count on CDR's. I have over 300 Elvis vinyl records and I do miss playing them.
The rarest EP's I bought was the Tickle Me V 1 and Vol 2 on the black RCA label.

It's funny what you do in your young days of being a Elvis fan, I actually paid one hundred and twenty dollars for the LP "Rockin' with Elvis new years eve, pittsburgh, pa. dec. 31, 1976. Great Lp but I don't even have a Lp player now and still have the LP.

I bought that 2 LP set on Ebay a long time ago. It's still sealed. Don't remember how much I paid for it, I think around fourty dollars. But then I discovered the wonderful world of imports!

Why buy the records still sealed? I know some fans buy the records and don't bother playing them. To me they are not real Elvis fans. When I buy records I always play them to make sure they are not faulty. In the Uk you take back faulty goods and get it replaced. If you leave it too long you got faulty goods for good.

You will find that many collectors keep certain releases sealed purely from a collectors point of view Frank. I know i have several imports that i have never opened. Mainly as i already have the material on other releases, and they are nice to keep sealed and protected. Certainly doesn't mean your not a "real" fan.

I keep them sealed really for two reasons, firstly because as long as they are sealed there's no way the vinyl will ever be hurt, though ring wear will occur on the covers, but that's better than having the music itself hurt. Secondly, I don't have a record player and haven't had one in about the last twenty years. I agree with Shaun, it doesn't mean a person is not a "real" fan. That phrase always gets under my skin. A person could have very little music on cd, vinyl, etc. and still be just as big of a fan as any of us

Yeah, there's all sorts of level of collector, and that's not neccessarily related to the level of fandom!

for that price it's possible that you have not the first original pressing but a counterfeit.
the first pressing was released in 1977 while the couterfeits are from the 80's.
the second pressing has a white random small banner.
for the import circle it has to be a gold awarded LP for sales wise but RIAA does not give that award.

for that $ 40 price; with $ 120,- it's likely an original.
