Notes:

The (almost) complete June 25th / 26th 1961 session in great sound quality. Further information as to where these tracks have been relasead also will be added at a later time.

* Track 16 - take 4 is only a false start on this disc, but after that the complete master take was recorded, which was still take 4.

* Unfortunately my cd is damaged from Track 21 onwards (last two tracks). The cover of this cd states that for "His Latest Flame" no take 8 excists, however on this fantastic site it is said that take 8 is the master and that there is a take 12. Could someone tell me if the above information regarding takes 7,9,10,11 is correct (by listening to their copy) ?

perhaps this CD is made from a copy of the "work-tape"; in that case the master take or parts of takes
(used with a spliced master take) are missing.
take 8 is the master take as 12 takes were recorded.
the bulk of the outtakes can be found on FTD Something for everybody.

Thanks for that clarification !

That indeed makes sense as there are NO master takes on this cd !

It's indeed a great release. Only whish that they had kept all the song takes together. Makes for some enjoyable listening nevertheless.

don't mind that stefan...saves you listening to the same track over and over....so makes for a nice alternates compilation (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)

Hank Garland....love the guy !!

You, played, on a number of sessions for, Elvis Presley. How was he to work with?

Real nice. He never got upset about anything. You hear a lot of people talk about him, saying "Elvis did this" and "Elvis did bad" in record sessions, but that's all junk! He never did. He ran in and sang what he was supposed to sing, and afterwards he shook hands with everybody and said thanks,

Who was in the rhythm section with you when you did the Presley sessions?

The people were about the same, Buddy Harmon played drums, Bob Moore played bass, and Floyd Cramer played piano, I did a lot of sessions with Floyd later on, but all I can remember about them is that every one was really work.
