This was the very first CD I ever purchased, way back in 1986. I was blown away by it at the time, and while the running time is a bit short by todays standards, only 12 tracks, it was at least as long as a vinyl release back in '86. This CD still holds up for me.

This was one of the compilation CD's that RCA released while Gregg Geller was in charge of the Elvis Catalog at RCA. I think all of the releases he was involved with have stood the test of time (Rocker, Reconsider Baby, A Valentine Gift For you, Always On My Mind...Just to name a few).

The concept here was to collect and assemble together some great "Rockers" from the Early 60's.....The "Return" referring to Elvis' return home from the Army.

Not one bad song to be found here......At the time of it's initial release, this was the only CD where you could find the majority of these tracks and I was playing it non-stop back then.

Here's the complete track list:

01. King of the Whole Wide World
02. His Latest Flame
03. Little Sister
04. A Mess of Blues
05. Like A Baby
06. I Want You With Me
07. Stuck On You
08. Return To Sender
09. Make Me Know It
10. Witchcraft
11. I'm Comin' Home
12. Follow That Dream

This one and Rocker....were superb releases at the time. Mind you...we didn't know much better at the time i guess. (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) Still have my copies too....they haven't been hit by the dreaded cd rot...as yet anyhow (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/geek.gif)

No, that's two different songs. Elvis' is an uptempo song from the "Something For Everybody" LP. Interesting thought though... would have been a cool ballad for Elvis to record

on this CD King of the whole wide world track M7 take 4 was released for the first time complete with the extented ending; still in mono.

nearly all the tracks were remixed and got new matrix numbers as usual by Gregg Geller.
