The FTD doesn't sound better Brad.

The import of "Auld lang sune" is to me the ultimate version of this faboulus show.
Better artwork,better release.
The sound is very much the same, i regret i've bought the FTD since there's no improvement in sound, but i'll keep it to keep the collection complete.

Still love the original Double-Vinyl-Release. No other release comes close to that one - as a whole package. Mother of all Bootlegs (together with the "Behind Closed Doors"-Box)...

I agree Vincent, that double-LP is one of the classic bootlegs! I have that one as well as the FTD and I must admit that I was slightly disappointed that they hadn't been able to do more about the sound since the original '77 release. It's a great show with a few unusual songs though and since Elvis was in such a good mood and seemed able to go on forever that night, I can't help feeling we would have had an even longer show, if it hadn't been for that jerk in the audience shouting at him...

I have to agree with the comments on this updated release. Although this FTD release is some years later than Auld lang + Pittsburgh 76 there is very little if any improvement on sound on this
Perhaps we need one of the guys to remaster this release for us i was led to believe the reason why FTD did this show was because they had a different source tape [taped from a different position] any ideas on that ?
Of the 2 or 3 versions around now which do u guys think is the best ?

it's a pity that there is no gold award given for the original LP; sales wise a bestseller at the time

Lene Reidel destroyed this release, there are many mastering errors.
I hope she and Ernst will die soon. They are old enough. Without them the FTD label will be much better.

I don't think you talk in this way about persons working hard for Elvis' fans; you can totally disagree with everything they are doing. This is a free and friendly forum so you can have your own opinion. Remember that without Ernst Jorgensen there was no collectors label.
