As you might know from the off topic section that I have been buying complete TV DVD series sets and some complete series from Classic TV website.
These past weeks I have been watching old TV series like The Fugitive, Lost In Space, Incredible Hulk, Alias Smith and Jones, Steptoe and Son and The Rockford Files.
I just love watching old series from the 60's and 70's.
I think the TV programmes of today are not the same value of entertainment.
I have lots more favourites but you can't buy every series.
It's like I am reliving my TV history and I am enjoying watching these old series.
This morning I watched the first Incredible Hulk episodes.

What is your favourite TV oldies series?

Yesterday I watched the first episodes of the Rockford Files.
In the first episode there was a Billy Mumy ex Lost In Space star.
You would not recognise Billy Mumy as an adult.

Today I got the To Serve Them All My Days DVD set.

I watched the first two episodes and to my surprise there was a young Nicholas Lyndhurst was in this series.
This series is just as good now as it was shown in the 70's.
John Duttine stars in this series.

I just watched the first two episodes of The Sweeney series.
My favourite UK cop series.
This is a Thames television series.
I was surprised to see they kept the commercial breaks without commercials.
I thought they would not include the breaks.
Why did they keep the breaks in?

Some recent series are doom and gloom.
There are lots of old series I like watching years ago.
Some programmes like The Untouchables appearing on DVD for the first time.
I wish some series would be complete sets instead of spread on different region DVD's.
I would like to buy the complete set of Dallas tv series one day.
It's great to watch old favourite series again.
So much better than the X Factor rubbish.

I have been watching some episodes of the Rockford files, Alias Smith and Jones and the Incredible Hulk series.
I am still waiting for the last 4 Bonanza DVD issues.
It's annoying when they keep you waiting for your orders.
Apparently they send 4 issues at a time.

Posted by: Suspicious Minds Jan 22 2011, 07:35 PM

Yesterday I watched two episodes of the Basil Rathbone's, Sherlock Holmes.
The Voice of Terror and The Hound of The Baskervilles.
I like black and white full screen films.
The film quality is very good and clear to watch.

Posted by: Suspicious Minds Jan 24 2011, 08:41 AM

Last night I watched 2 episodes of The Fugitive.
On the episode Home of The Haunted a young Billy Mumy is one of Kimble relatives.
This episode has Kimble visiting his father after 2 years on the run.

I bought 2 more series today.
The High Chaparral Complete Series and The Baron Complete Series.
These are not official releases but are available to collectors.

Don't know why The Baron series ended.
Always liked the theme music.

Posted by: U.S. Male Feb 13 2011, 07:50 PM

Frank you're a man of my own tv taste, because I really enjoy watching those classic tv shows from the 50's, 60's, and 70's biggrin.gif

I recently picked up the season 4 DVD set of Mr. Ed, plus Season 1 of The Rockford Files. I'm hoping they'll release the old Casey Jones tv series from the 1950's on DVD. I can remember as a kid watching those reruns on tv after school.

Posted by: Suspicious Minds Feb 16 2011, 06:55 PM

I received my High Chapparal and The Baron DVD series order today.

I had to watch a few episodes of The High Chapparal as I missed this great series.
I am sure you recognise some of these characters of the High Chaparral.
Some of the first episodes were 30 minutes playing time.

Another great series from the 60's/70's was The Baron with Steve Forrest.
Don't know why this series was stopped.

I just watched an episode of The Baron tonight.
I think it's a American version of The Saint.
Similar sort of storylines.

Yesterday I watched some episodes of The Baron series.
The theme music has always been a favourite.
One of those catchy themes that stick in your mind.

I also been watching some of The High Chaparral series.
I always thought the theme music to this series was a cover of Telstar by The Tornados.

Posted by: Suspicious Minds Feb 24 2011, 09:30 PM

Tonight I watched an Bonanza episode called the Dark Star.
I have always like the Bonanza theme music.
I like watching old TV series.

Posted by: Suspicious Minds Feb 25 2011, 09:33 AM

This week on ITV 4 Batman and The Fall Guy have a re-run.
2 more of my favourite shows.
The tv programmes of today are nothing like the 60's and 70's.

Posted by: charlierogers Feb 26 2011, 03:27 AM

Think I have the dark star episode from Bonanza

biggrin.gif - forgot the fall guy completely ......opps

Posted by: Suspicious Minds Feb 27 2011, 09:52 PM

Today I watched some of my favourite tv series.
2 episodes of Bonanza, 1 episode of Incredible Hulk and 2 episodes of The Fugitive.
A lot better than the rubbish on ITV and BBC today.

Posted by: Suspicious Minds Mar 15 2011, 09:35 PM

Last week I started buying the Dallas DVD's.
Tonight I watched 2 episodes from the 1st season.
What a pleasure it was to watch this programme again.
On th 2nd episode Southfork had snow.
I thought Texas never had snow.
Don't know if was 1978 or 1979 winter they had snow.

Posted by: Suspicious Minds Mar 27 2011, 10:43 AM

Last I watched the Dallas episode Bypass.
This was about Jock Ewing having a Bypass operation.
No sooner Jock had his bypass operation he let out to go home in a wheel chair just after his op.
I don't know how long a time passed between the operation and his going home time.
A bypass operation does not heal that quick.
Did the script writers get their facts right about this?
I understood bypass operation takes a long time to heal.

Posted by: Suspicious Minds Apr 10 2011, 08:39 PM

The last few Saturday evenings I have been watching 2 episodes of Dallas.
Some of the early episodes I don't remember watching.
I was surprised on how short Lucy Ewing was, even she was a little raver.
Most of the Dallas DVD's I have now are on Region 2.

I also have been watching some episodes of The Fugitive, Alias Smith and Jones, The Rockford Files and some of The Incredible Hulk series.

Posted by: Suspicious Minds Apr 25 2011, 08:26 AM

You can't beat old TV series for pastime viewing.
I watched another 4 episodes of Dallas on Friday and Saturday.
Yesterday afternoon I watched 3 episodes of Bonanza.
I never get tired of hearing the Bonanza theme music.

This morning I received the Thunderbirds box set.
This is a book type of box.
At last I could read the titles is in English.
According to release date this was released in 1999.
I don't think it is digitally remastered.
I have not watched this series for awhile and thought the theme music was a little different.
Might be because it's not remastered and don't sound so loud.
I watched the first 2 episodes.
I always loved the theme music to this series.

There might be website that plays High Chaparral like the Bonanza series.
I bought a new set of High Chaparral.
A better recordings.
My Bonanza box is just about full.
I don't know if the whole series of Bonanza will be released with this collection.
There is 14 years of this series.

I just found this site for watching High Chaparral http://www.ovguide.com/tv/the_high_chaparral.htm

Posted by: Suspicious Minds May 24 2011, 10:38 AM

Today I received The Rockford Files Complete series plus movies set.
This is not a official release.
This is like the High Chaparral set recorded on Sky TV.
The quality is good so far and there is a menu for the episodes.
I know it's better to have original studio release but some are too expensive.
This set comes from MyOffer site and it took a week to receive this order.

Posted by: Suspicious Minds May 28 2011, 03:40 PM

This morning I received my order Sgt Bilko series.

This afternoon I watched the first DVD.

I am spoilt for choice on what I am going to watch with my series collection.

Blue Thunder was a free bonus.
Blue Thunder is similar to Airwolf series.
Both feature technical helicopters.
It's good to watch Cagney and Lacey again after all these years.
You can't beat old TV series favourites.

My Time Tunnel series order is still on the way, so the seller says.
If I get this order I would think twice before watching this set because of this order problem.

Posted by: Suspicious Minds Nov 11 2011, 09:44 PM

One of my favourite police series is A Touch of Frost.
I see it is available as a complete series set 1-15.
The price is too much for my blood at the moment.
I love to buy this complete set at a lowish price after Christmas maybe.

Posted by: Suspicious Minds Nov 28 2011, 08:27 AM

I was watching The Fugitive series last night and noticed it was in colour.
I also noticed I was missing about 25 episodes from no 71 to 95.
I emailed this seller and told him/her the episodes were missing.
To my surprise the seller said they would replace missing DVD's.
I bought this 5 months ago and did not think I would get replacements.

I decided to buy The Time Tunnel DVD as it was £14.95 with free postage from The Hut.
No luck with The Time Tunnel DVD set from iOffer.
I told that seller I was disappointed with this order.
Apparently there was a fault with DVD's.
The seller said I could choose another set.
I picked The Untouchables or Harry O series.
Hope they turn up.

You get every episode but it's not like when you watched it on TV in the past.
You don't get the start of the next episode on the same episode. If you understand.
