I don't actually have this one Einar. But a close friend has and he has always said that this is the best sounding CD of the show available.......and he usually gets things like that right....so we may have a difference of opinion here

I don't own the actual CD myself either. But i did have it on APE format (wich is MUCH better than MP3, it's a lossless format.).
It sounded dead in my ears, very flat. But this might be because im used to the official Aloha release. I also read that the cd is a straight copy of the VHS and is recorded in mono. So i rest my case. Amen ! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Indeed there were several versions of this cd if I recall that right. There were different colored cd's (1st and 2nd pressings I believe) and the quality was indeed different between those. -------------------- "How do I get placed in situations like this? this CD is a superfluous release; for the first time several parts of the rehearsel show appeared on several import Lp's in 1979/80.
the entire concert was released in 1980 on LP (Amiga 4 73 210) and officially released by BMG/RCA on LP and CD in 1988. who buys this Cd in 1997??? colonel snow -------------------- |

the official releases are poor sounded indeed; but Steamroller blues on Greatest hits vol.1 has not that bad sound.
it seemed that for the 1988 release the tape is badly remixed. colonel snow -------------------- |

Its one of the worst sounding and looking official release i can ever remember....oh when are they ever gonna put that right. No wonder the bootleggers are still around The worst cover would be the "Always On My Mind Album" from that same period and in the same style ! -------------------------------------------------------------- Would you believe that I searched years for that cd ? It was pretty hard to find back in the early 90's as most of the "older" cd's were deleted (so it seemd) when the "Elvis in the 90's" campaign was launched in 1992. I found a copy in 1995, and here i was, 16 years old, and happy as a littke child that I found it. I've played it mabye 2-3 times and thereafter never touched it again -------------------- "How do I get placed in situations like this?
