Recently got two new books..one the Best Of Elvis..nice photo book with details about his biggest selling records, movies, documentaries etc.

The second is like 600 pages long titled Elvis His Life A-Z. It's filled with everything from his last will and testament, all songs he recorded, movies, concert dates from 54-77 and so on. An essential book i.m.o. (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)

the "black" edition is the first printing (1988); the "red" edition is the second updated printing (1992).
meanwhile we know a lot more about recording dates etc..
both books are outdated now but for certain facts they remain important.
it's a pity that there never was a third updated edition.

I've send a lot of additional information to upgrade the "third" book to Steve Tamerius but for some reason I never got an answer.

Love that Elvis A-Z Brad, have the 1988 edition which I got in 1990 as a gift. It's beside me here at my desk all the time and is my most often referred to reference book.

I have a couple of different A-Z's, with different covers, info and authors. Trouble is, some of the information varies from book to book. Make for great reference books, as long as, on occasions, you don't read too much into them. (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/undecided.gif)

I do also Conor (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/notworthy2.gif)

Always keep it close by when I need some type of information. It is indeed a great reference book (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)

The A - Z book is one of my all time favorites (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)

I happen to have both the 1988 and the 1992 upgraded version, and let me tell you - they've come in mighty handy over the years.

Hope they'll do another upgrade, especially with so much more information that's come out in the past 16 years.

It's old news but I just got this DVD today.
This DVD is a Region 0 PAL version.
The sound level is very good.
Elvis says after Hound Dog he was 12 years old with sideburns when he recorded Hound Dog.
Don't remember seeing that on the deluxe DVD.

I wanted the new one. I thought this was going to be a better release.
Have to wait until next week.
The blue cover Charro isn't released until June 2008.
The one I bought was the cheapest new at the time.

I got the Charro DVD today. I find out it's a different cover to the one advertised. This is a Video International copy. I watched this film this morning. The makers apologise for the poor film quality and it's like watching old spaghetti westerns in black and white. The volume is very good. I don't know if the new Charro DVD is any better but I can watch this version.

Sure that chris will be interested to hear that Frank. (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/undecided.gif)

The Warner release is great quality. Shame that these sort of releases can't be stopped and save fans some money.

I buy the DVD's when they are at their cheapest.
You could buy 4 for £20 if you wait for price to drop.
