On this list there is no Elvis film.
I don't know who made this list up but there is only 20 films I know.
Some foreign films on here too.

Which is your favourite all time classic film?

Fun topic Frank!

Wow that is a tough one, I have so many! I couldn't name just one....

If it is an Elvis answer you are looking for:
Kid Galahad and Charro

Old Classics:

An Affair To Remember --Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr
The Ghost And Mrs Muir --Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison
Come Next Spring --- Steve Cochran and Ann Sheridan
Ball of Fire ---Gary Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck
Band of Angels ---Clark Gable and Yvonne DeCarlo
River of No Return ---Marilyn Monroe and Robert Mitchum
Reap The Wild Wind ---John Wayne and Jeanne Crain
Bachelor Mother ---Ginger Rogers and David Niven
North To Alaska ---John Wayne and Stewart Granger
I like happy endings!

Musicals:
Young At Heart -- Doris Day and Frank Sinatra
Calamity Jane --Doris Day and Howard Keel
Four Daughters -- John Garfield and Priscilla Lane
Annie Get Your Gun --Howard Keel and Betty Hutton
Singing In The Rain ---Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds
The Unsinkable Molly Brown ---Debbie Reynolds and harve Presnell
Tammy and the Bachlor ---Debbie Reynolds and Leslie Neilsen

and my favorite scary one: Attack of the 50 foot Woman!

and this is just a start I have these and many, many more.

There is some of your selection I do know. You can't beat old full screen black and white films.

Here is some of my favourites;

The Wings of Eagles
How The West Was Won
Strategic Air Command
Each Dawn I Die
Friendly Persuasion

These are some I would like on DVD.

There are only about 10 in that last that i would say i even liked. (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif)

NOT a fan of B/W movies...( with the exception of Laurel & Hardy and a few others )...would much prefer to watch more modern movies.

Would also depend on what you would define as a "classic". Surely thats down to everyones own opinions.. (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/undecided.gif)

speaking of casablanca - which i like a lot but wouldn't rank it first place .....

i collected for a friend, who likes the song 'as time goes by', more than 100 different versions of it. plenty of artists recorded it whom i never even had heard the names of before.

anyway, interesting to listen. still in the process of sorting them, though.

BTW, north by northwest on rank 81 ... would have placed that one MUCH higher!

hugs, ellie

Any Cary Grant film I love, my all time favourite actor with North By NorthWest being my favourite of his. Father Goose, Mr Blanding's Builds His Dream Home, The Bishop's Wife .... marvellous stuff.

Was never a fan of Bogart and have never watced Casablanca all the way through. I do love Abbott and Costello but classic comedy wise I think Peter Sellers in "The Party" is hard to beat, gives me asthma everytime I watch it I laugh so hard!!

It would cost a fortune to replace DVD's with Blu-Ray versions.
Cheaper to buy more sweeties, Kev.
