Elvis-TheKingsCourt _ All Elvis _ EP's Recording Sessions

Posted by: J Aug 22 2011, 05:28 PM

Having now gone through the "Complete Masters" set I got this urge of start collecting pictures from as many of EP's recording session dates as possible, just because I find it interesting to know how Elvis looked during the recording of certain songs. There are obviously many dates still missing, and there are MANY sessions during which no photographs were probably even snapped, so I've settled for shots from the same day, preferably either at arrival to the studio or after the session etc...

Still very much a work in progress but any additions/corrections are obviously welcome, and I'll be making the changes asap.

Thanks for the comments. ... I just added shots from 1968 and 1969... although I had some difficulties with the dates. If someone has more accurate infos/confirmation that they're correct, let me know too.

Also managed to found one very small pic of EP and the crew arriving for the May 15, 1971 sessions in Nashville... it's apparently taken from the "Elvis Now" FTD booklet (which I can't check as I don't have it...)...

UPDATE --> A couple of shots added from March 20-21, 1960 ("Elvis Is Back!" sessions)... not 'session pictures' as such, but taken during the March session dates.

UPDATE --> Managed to find a picture that was apparently taken after the final Stax session on December 16, 1973.
If anyone has a more solid confirmation of the date, and/or a better version of the picture, feel free to add.

Thanks, Steve! If you have any corrections, or you can nail down a bit further some of the sessions I haven't been able to, let me know.

I just added the well knonw "Frankie & Johnny" session shot which shows the studio settings quite nicely... but it's also another which I don't have an exact date to... although there are only three options left so we're not too far from it.

many thanks for the 'Frankie & Johhny' studio shot...that is one of my favourites from the 60's by far..due to it showing the layout etc...its a shame there arent more like this from Studio B in Nashville..having been there it would be great to know how it was all set out for an Elvis recording session..though the guide did tell us that Elvis often leaned up against the wall whilst singing a lot of the soundtrack songs he was bored with.
