Las vegas August 14, 1971 Midnight show Sound Format: Audience Recording 01. 2001 02 That's allright 03 Proud Mary 04 You don't have to say you love me 05 You've lost that loving feelin' 06 Polk salad Annie 07 Johnny B Goode 08 It's over 09 Love me 10 Blue suede shoes/Whole lotta shaking going on 11 Heartbreak hotel 12 Teddy bear / Don't be cruel 13 Rip it up 14 Hound dog 15 I need your loving everyday 16 Suspicious minds 17 Band introductions 18 I'm leavin' 19 Lawdy miss clawdy 20 Bridge over troubled water 21 Cant help falling in love This album contains some rarities, you get one verse from rip it up and one verse from I need your loving everyday. Those alone defends this release. The 71 summerfestival vol.1 and 2 is really not my favorite recordings, i have no problem handling audience recordings. But these are some of the worst. Volume 2 is a little better than volume 1 wich i had problem listening to, because my ears would hurt after a while. But anything from 71 should be bought, so if you get the oppertunity grab it. Besides, one should listen and judge for himself. -------------------- The outer limit of your potential is determined solely by your own beliefs and your own confidence in what you think is possible |

My opinion about the sound: not very good but there is much worse. It is not a cd one will play alot because of this, but still it's 1971, a good performance and tracklist, plus a few rarites.

I suppose my ears are trained then (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/laughing1.gif) (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/laughing1.gif) (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/laughing1.gif)
I think these recordings are passeble, nothing like Whichita '76 or Terra Haute '75 (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/LSHIC.gif) (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/LSHIC.gif) Most of the August '71 recordings have above average sound and imo all shows are quite good to some even outstanding. This one is no exception (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) -------------------- "How do I get placed in situations like this? This one has a good soundquality. It's stands far away like recordings such as Wichita Falls and Terra Haute.
The music and Elvis words are really good to understand. That's a + for me. Greetz, mrsongman -------------------- "There's some girl over there who yelled through the whole song, so honey put some tape over your mouth" # Elvis after singing Blue Christmas (Huntsville ALA Sept. 6th 1976).

(IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/laughing1.gif) Depends if it's original or not Einar...if it's a copy (like mine) God knows through how many types of compressions it could have gone! A straight copy from the original sounds very different from one which was souyrced from a 32kps mp3!! -------------------- I'd rather go on hearing your lies....than smell your armpits son

Ok, i have this album released by chips. I don't think it's mp3 sourced. (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Maby im just a little too hard to impress. (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Im gona sit down and listen later, and see if i change my mind... I doubt it tough. (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) If i remember correct it contains alot of noise, atleast Vol1 did. -------------------- The outer limit of your potential is determined solely by your own beliefs and your own confidence in what you think is possible |

Great 1971 show!!
The addition of "I need yor lovin'" alone is worth the price. Soundquality is reasonable too!! -------------------- |

The sound is not very good at all, but the '71 concerts are tough to come by, so that makes this one good! Al

as usual with audience recordings>> there are better ones and as mentioned before there are poor sounded AR.
when you have listened to soundboards and you'll play an AR than the AR always looses. but the AR maybe a better performance. colonel snow -------------------- |

well first off , the source tapes are third gen , and these were origianlly recorded on apex 1/4 " tape reel to reel machines with a hookup to ELVIS MIC, the first of these tapes circulated in excellent format in late eighties on a homemade casette tape titled THE RISE OF THE KING VOLUME 1 , i was pissed when i recieved this cd , as my dealer wrote that they were excellent sounding tapes transferred to cd, 0-NOT., the guy who origianlly taped these worked in the ELVIS CAMP and had taped many a show from the jan enagement a year earlier- ELVIS was well aware of this as was felton, it was felton who went back to these tapes and used them as refference tapes from 72- onwards.
