Love this movie, which has some really great songs, overall, including:

Girl Happy
I've Got To Find My Baby
Startin' Tonight
The Meanest Girl In Town

Was a little disappointed that it didn't inclue the "Spring Fever" duet with Shelley Fabares or the extended version of "I've Got To Find My Baby".........Still, a very worthwile purchase....

Re: Spring Fever Duet: I'm reasonably sure that the reason it wasn't included is because it's not in the vault.

Some people don't care for this album (that's alright), but it's definitely one of my Top 5 favorite '60s soundtracks.

addition:

You'll be gone is take 4 in stead of original master take 3;

I've got to find my baby is the edited master track 2007 take 2; the complete version (2:10) was first released on LP " Memphis Tennessee";

Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce is the edited master >>
instrumental track 2008 take 7 lasts 2:30 and the complete version is unreleased.
the instrumental tracks take 5 (2:20) and take 7 (2:30) were released on imports;
take 6 is an incomplete instr. version>> unreleased;

Startin' tonight is the edited master>>
instrumental track 2009 take 3 lasts 1:59 and the complete version is unreleased.
the instrumental tracks 2009 take 1 (2:00) /take 2 - f.s. /take 3 (1:59) are unreleased;

Do the clam>>
on the Reader's Digest set " The legend lives on" is an alternate mix Elvis sings
" Do the ........" (an interval)
the instrumental tracks 2010
take 1 - incomplete
take 2 & 4 - fals starts
take 3 2:39 / take 5 2:39 are unreleased.
the master is lenghtened by the engeneer>> in the instrumental bridge you can hear the switch in the channels;

the movie version Spring fever exist as an instrumental version take 3 without Elvis' vocal and with the female vocals.
it's clear that female vocals are not overdubbed to the Elvis recording.

colonel snow
it is possible that Elvis added his vocal to the track

for the vocal overdubs to instrumental tracks the vocal take numbers were missing; see for additional information the updated recording sessions on the site of keith flynn.

Colonel,

Is the "I've Got To Find My Baby" (Complete Version) that you mention appeared on the "Memphis Tennessee" LP the actual studio/stereo version or the Acetate that is a bit scratchy?

I've never heard of the Memphis Tennessee LP......Can you give us any more info on that?

Thanks!

Barry
