Notes:

A great release from SR Records. A great show in above average sound quality. Both Memphis Tennessee and Trying To Get To You are performed live for the 2nd time. Memphis Tennessee is more complete than the attempt from August '70 and Trying To Get To You isn't as polished as it later would become. Both are nice additions to the show. As always Jailhouse Rock (taken from the previous day's dinner show) is a delight to hear performed pré 1976.

* tracks 22 & 23 were orginally released on I Don't Wonna Sing These Songs.

The same concert was also released (without the added August 12th tracks and also without the bonus songs) on Show Time At The International.

Played this one again, it's been a few years ago...
I liked it a lot, the sound is good, there are some great versions on this cd.

"It's impossible" almost breaks Elvis up in the beginning but as the song proceeds he delivers a beautiful version.
Oh dear lord, i would hope for a soundboard version of this, his voice is that smooth.

Trying to get to you" is another highlight, a very focused version, he sings with power and attention.

"I'm leavin"": My favorite Elvissong, a real sincere version, with all the emotion that it asks for.
"To ease this emptiness inside me... aaah.. i'm so lonely..."
Perfection, complete with the falsetto.
There is simply not a bad version ever by EP.

"It's over"(from the 10th date) is also impressive.
How awesome it must be to be in the audience.
Not only to see Elvis but hear him do totaly "new" songs, songs that would not be released for another 2 years, like this one did on Aloha.

As heard in the beginning....
A booming voice: "Good evening ladies and genlemen,Welcome to Las Vegas Hilton, The International hotel!!

And then that 2001 intro, a bit different then we know... phew, just to be there!!

These August 1971 Vegas performances have always been a guilty pleasure for me. I simply like them ... they're not outstanding concerts but nevertheless very enjoyable !
