We're now located on a completely NEW site (Thanks Jordan!).

First, the idea of the 'project' quickly once more; we've all seen all those 'official' photos of Elvis that are scattered literally everywhere - they're gracing the LP/45 single/EP/CD/DVD etc. covers/sleeves, posters, books, all kinds of merchandise and what not. We decided to try to collect as much of these 'photo shoot' photos together to give you a better idea of how many different ones there actually are.

As you'll also see on the link below, there were quite a few of these 'sessions' during Elvis' career - basically one for each movie and some extras in-between. Seeing all of them together with as many as possible photos from each shoot in their 'proper places', it gives a whole new appreciation for the photos and a much better idea of how much work might've gone in a session like this --- see "Girls Girls Girls" folder for example; Elvis was shot in about a zillion different outfits.

Now that we don't have to use Photobucket anymore, we also added another "feature" for the project - you can use the search bar to quickly find which shots were used in which covers (at the moment, only US releases (released during Elvis' time)) ... just type in either the catalog number or the title of the LP/EP/45 single and it should find the shots just fine.

Other than that, feel free to browse through now well over 2000 photos of Elvis, and as always, all feedback and help (better quality versions, mistakes etc.) are more than welcome.

Hope you enjoy.

Thank you both.

It's coming along nicely now that all the shots are finally moved from PB to the new site - we've already added well over a handful 'upgrades' and new photos, including some sleeve shots we missed on the first round while going through the US single sleeves. Like said in the opening post, they can be found quickly by using the search bar - it's actually pretty neat.

Within the last week or two a good dozen or more new shots and around the same amount of upgrades have been added to various folders. Some cool finds among as well, like an 'alternate' shot of Elvis wearing the cool shades he briefly wore during the Double Trouble shoot.

Also, the "Easy Come, Easy Go" folder has been deleted as it's more than likely no photo shoot was done for the movie... and it seems like it was the only one.

Hope you've been enjoying the new EPSS so far... more to come...

Hi Sarah,

I did correspond with J a few times since the request and thank you also but unfortunately I have not been able to locate a larger size of my avatar ecept this one I will post to you here. If I remember back when I joined TKC this was always my avatar and I think I pulled it off a poster website somewhere but still looking through my available archives I not found it larger but if I do in some packed away material I need to go through I surely will submit it to you.

Best to You Sarah (IMG:style_emoticons/default/winking0001.gif)

If you happen to come across it one day, throw it our way and we'll pop in the larger version.
Jouni already added the small one into the GGG folder. That was a new shot for us. Looks cool too.

Cheers Tony. Hope you are keeping well (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bye1.gif)

Thanks for all the comments!

We've added some over 60 new shots in the past couple weeks - special thanks to "The fool" from FECC.

Plenty of interesting shots among there too - new stuff can be found from GGG, Harum Scarum, Spinout, Kissin Cousins, Roustabout, F & J and few here and there on various other folders.

More to come...

Another big patch of shots have been added in the last couple weeks.

"Follow That Dream" and "Kid Galahad" in particular have gotten some great new additions!
Also the "co-stars" folder has some interesting new shots...

Take a quick look when you have the time.

Wow they are so similar though. Thanks for the color link. It's hard to see Rams version (I thought the eyes might be looking slightly different) but hard to see.

They are very similar. This is why Jouni and I double check every single picture we come across as some of them look so alike, but if you take a closer look, you notice that there are indeed some slight differences.
Makes it all the more interesting though.

Thanks Jeanette. Glad you're enjoying the site.

Sarah added another at least a handful new shots in last night - including one in the '72 folder. A cool alternate cape shot of the royal blue "Fireworks".

As a tip for everyone; we don't 'mark' any new shots or upgrades, but they can be found by hoovering your mouse over them - if the view count is less than 15-20 clicks, it's more than likely a fairly new one or an upgraded version.

As an example - the first one in this folder is clearly a completely new (and cool!) shot as it has only one click so far, while all the rest have anything between 40-80.

--> http://elvicities.com/~epss/index.php/Stay-Away-Joe-1967

Remember to check the rest of the folders as well - many great shots to find (2200 and counting...).

Sarah and Dr K, I am so truly sorry that I can not locate a larger version of my avatar as you both speak of here, all I can remember that I indeed found my version on the net back when I joined TKC and its the only avatar I ever used here. I thought I pulled it off a website that offered that pose as a poster ? Can you imagine that ? If I knew this I would of bought that darn thing but I'm still searching , have 30 years of Elvis mags to go through yet , just gotta dig them out of storage. If I find it, it's going public for everyone who needs it.

thanks Sarah, yeah, I was sort of lucky growing up, my dad was in the service during the 50's so I got a lot of his imports (mostly japan)EP's and such vinyl but he collected loads of the 50's mags like all the "Hep Cat" issues and such. My mag collection I bought here in the US started in late 60's and on till Elvis' death and beyond. I bought doubles of each and every Elvis mag and bagged each one and they have been stored away since 2010 (somewhere in the hundreds). The same goes with all the US original issued 45and LP 's w/sleeves and LPs including the variations issued such as the love me tender different color issued sleeves. Also imports and the legs too. Someday I hope to feature all this on TKC.............and oh yeah all those pesky 8 tracks and cassettes and Cd's. I gotta find room to lay it all out but in time I hope to show it.

Best Always (IMG:style_emoticons/default/winking0001.gif)

thanks Sarah, yeah, I was sort of lucky growing up, my dad was in the service during the 50's so I got a lot of his imports (mostly japan)EP's and such vinyl but he collected loads of the 50's mags like all the "Hep Cat" issues and such.

Cool stuff Tony.
We still have to go through some of the Japanese EP's, see what shot was used on what cover etc, and we add the info to each photo as we come across it. Like this one for example- From the Viva Las Vegas shoot, this photo was used for the Japanese EP "Trouble" http://elvicities.com/~epss/index.php/Viva...s-1963/vlv-blk3

Attached File  Elvis_Presley_Trouble_EP_465133.jpg ( 42.22K ) Number of downloads: 0

It's all pretty interesting, seeing what picture was used for each release.
I for one would very much look forward to seeing your collection of stuff- and if you have a scanner .......... remember and think of us (IMG:style_emoticons/default/winking0001.gif)

Take it easy Tony (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)

We've gotten a great, roughly 50 photo update for the 'Fun In Acapulco' folder. Counting all the other new shots in various other folders it would be around 65(ish) new shots in total since the last update, but the FIA one is the 'main update' this time. You can't miss the photos when you open the folder. Check them out!

Thanks to Chris for scanning them. Boggles the mind how many photos were snapped during some of these sessions.

Love the work you're doing guys - indeed it's quite impressive that so many shots are available and that so many keep being (re)-discovered

A small update ---

We've added roughly 15-20ish new Elvis shots in various folders over the last couple weeks, but funnily enough the "co-stars" folder has seen some interesting 'new' photos. Even another new Ann photo popped up a couple days ago - also multiple new Tickle Me shots are added, which should please the guys at least.

So if you're interested of the "co-stars" shots, take a quick look through the folder... even that folder has now almost 100 shots in it, which we thought would never happen, so plenty of interesting ones in there and just as cool to see all of them together as all the Elvis pictures.
--> http://elvicities.com/~epss/index.php/co-stars

One of the more interesting new "just Elvis" photos probably come from the "Stay Away Joe" shoot - it's a small folder still but it's growing... slowly. We managed to find another color shot - really cool and great to see new ones popping up. Hopefully more to come...
--> http://elvicities.com/~epss/index.php/Stay-Away-Joe-1967

And as usual, "the rest" - some 2300 photos to enjoy in total.

Just a little update to let everyone know that Jouni has been extremely hard at work these last few days, cleaning up the folders and sorting shots out.
He deserves a HUGE amount of praise for all the hard work he has put in and EPSS is looking fantastic thanks to him (IMG:style_emoticons/default/notworthy2.gif)

Thanks for all the positive comments. Yes, we went through tons of photos recently correcting the levels, fixing sizes, removing watermarks/other "extra" where possible and upgraded some shots to better versions as we were going as better versions pop up constantly.

One of the more interesting finds (for me) as of late was a photo from the LY shoot - this is the clearest one we have from this 'shoot' and it was so cool to finally properly see what the clothes really look like, and in color! The shot looks even better in the gallery as I re-sized it for better display here.

Attached File  ly_brn1hq.jpg ( 91.27K ) Number of downloads: 0

We also found a slightly better version for one of the SW shots. This is one of the folders that desperately need more photos and it's pretty certain there has to be more... so if someone has any, feel free to post. We don't care if they're watermarked or anything like that, just as long as they're 'new'.

I personally got a good kick out of seeing some co-stars being photographed in front of a very similar "set" as Elvis was. Nothing earth-shattering, just neat to find small things like this.

Again, thanks for all the comments and keep looking in as we're adding stuff almost all the time.

UPDATE --> Tons of new stuff have been added in the last few weeks - special thanks to "The Fool" of FECC fame.

New stuff can be found from various folders but most notably, VIVA LAS VEGAS and KISSIN COUSINS.
Check them out when you have the time... really nice shots and it's pretty wild how many photos they snapped during some of the photo shoots.

Thanks for the comment, Einar.

Yeah, it does seem the photos just keep popping up - still today we keep adding new stuff sometimes on daily basis several days in a row... sometimes the flow slows down a bit and it may be a new shot every few days/week, but the flow hasn't really stopped more than once or twice during the two-ish years we've been collecting shots. When we first decided to make the project 'public', we had probably around 1500 shots in total - today we're at slightly over 2400 and still more stuff turns up on regular basis. The last three shots were added only today. We're glad there are people who are willing to help a great deal too.

The new WITC shots in particular are super interesting (you can see them HERE, at the very bottom of the page) - I'd love to see them from better sources. The ones we have all have a cartoon-ish look since they're all from movie posters but they look like they could be from the same shoot as the shots of Elvis in a suit that are before them. That's the quality I'd like to see these shots in as well. Hopefully they're somewhere out there...

I know exactly why you'd ask that - I made the same connection over at another forum a while back but no, they're definitely from WITC.

During the WITC shoot not only did Elvis have a different guitar, but the suit as a whole was pretty different - the jacket was much longer as was the tie.
I personally think THIS is the suit Elvis is wearing during the shoot - the "cartoon effect" just hides the details a bit.

A small update --- We've added a bunch of upgrades as well as new shots over the past few weeks in various folders.
The Clambake folder got a few very good quality shots, taken from slides. Go through them when you have the time.

Also Jove from another forum posted a couple real good shots for the guys, featuring none other than Michele Carey.
Here's one of them... mmmmm....

Some updates - more and more shots keep getting added, with a special thanks to the good people at "Elvis Files" for the use of their fabulous findings on the site.
The LMT photos are just fabulous!

We've also once again done a 'clean-up' for basically all folders - gotten rid of the remaining doubles, "connected" plenty of shots (Elvis in same clothes but maybe a jacket removed on some of the photos for example) and tried to add some little infos for some shoots. The GGG folder in particular saw a pretty nice cleaning as we manged to connect the shots a bit more than we had.

In anycase, take a peek and hope you enjoy... more to come...
