Tulsa's blues and Dog face

These two songs by Leiber & Stoller were selected for G.I. Blues but not recorded.
Dog face was recorded later on 29-07-60 by the Coasters; however never released.
It's a pity that the Leiber & Stoller writing team were not allowed to write for Elvis any longer. Songs like Little Egypt - Girls girls girls were existing songs; they were not especially written for an Elvis' movie.

It's not confirmed but the next Christmas songs were rejected in 1957:

1) Let it snow let it snow let it snow
Original version recorded in 1945 by Vaughn Monroe & his Orchestra (RCA 20-1759).

2) You're all I want for Christmas
Original recordings from 1948: Seger Ellis (Bullet 1011) - Frank Gallagher (Dana 2028) - Frankie Laine (Mercury 5177)

3) Let's play jingle bells (no information available)

4) Santa you've done me wrong (no information available)

Pins and needles in my heart

For the second RCA session in jan. 1956 it was suggested to record the song "Pins and needles in my heart". The original version was recorded on 02-08-45 by Roy Acuff & his Smoky Mountain Boys (Columbia 36856).

Great work colonel snow. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheers.gif)

It would have been fun to actually listen to the rejects, just too hear if Elvis & co passed up on some gems or potentional hits.
