Every song on this release is performed with passion. My personal favorite from the vegas 72 imports.

very good show indeed. Shame only that the first "concert opening" See See Rider is incomplete.

To me this is one of the best concerts of '72. Excellent song selections, great vocals, it is all great [img]style_emoticons/default/king.gif[/img] .

I know what you mean Gordon, it took several years for this album to grow on me. It's a great show but many of the new songs are performed quite slowly, something I don't like to much ... I'm glad he speeded Up songs like "Until It's Time For Yo To", "You Gave Me A Mountain" and "American Trilogy" later on, but in the end I really came to appriciate this renewing opening night concert !

You are right in that it was 'renewing' as you put it.

definately it was a much needed change. Maybe, just maybe, there should have been a couple more shows like that in the later years.

Although I have never heard this particular cd, the song line up really looks good. Early 1972 Elvis was still in great shape physically and vocally. I, for one, have always enjoyed "I'll Remember You."

Been playing this one alot lately, I don't think there are words to describe how fantastic this show is. Unlike some here I like that Trilogy,Mountain etc. where performed slower much more closer to the orginal versions, and Elvis voice on tis show was clearly top notch.
I like how both Trilogy and mountaing goes slower, but then builds up so powerful during the really pucnhing parts of the songs, Elvis delivers 110% on these numbers, and the "first time performed on stage" feeling of not screwing up the songs is there. You can tell Elvis realy wants these to hit with the crowd.

This is one I would really like to see re-released with better sound and perhaps complete from FTD. While it is a soundboard recording it's not really a good sounding release from a techinqual stand point. Elvis and the choir is is placed well aove the band, wich can be hard on the spekers if you goof it up. I wonder BMG/FTD if they have this show somewhere... Then again it's only wishfull thinking on my part.
