Got this cd in August or there about and played it till my better half thought i`d lost my marbles. A truly impressive insight to a unique artist. Book is pretty cool stuff too. For those who don`t have this cd, you don`t know what your missing. Treat me nice is awsome. Get it now, ask for it for xmas, pretend its your birthday, ask for more pocket money (kids), Just take a look at the reviews.

In my opinion, Flashback is one of the best, if not THE BEST, release from FTD so far.
The cd is just awesome, and the book is very, very nice!

Although the price is quite high, I sure ain't complaining.
I think this release is definitely worth the money!

I have a copy of the cd, have not seen the book yet, but if the book is as good as the cd, then it must be great because the cd is fantastic, the sound is superb to say the least! Al

Ernst is VERY deceiving sometimes when he releases certain takes of songs, and this release is no different. On "I Want You I Need You I Love You - Take 3" there is some dialogue ("Da Da Da Da Da Da" listen closely!) that is from a different take, and doesn't belong to this take

Other than that, it's a fantastic release

A fine Elvis fan sent me a copy of this for my birthday - I looked through the book first and it is breathtakingly beautiful, in itsself a must.

I didn't listen until the CD until this afternoon - I'm not a big 50's fan (though, of course, I do love it all). The CD is absolutely superb and ranks up there with Elvis is Back and Jungle Room Sessions releases.
Highlights for me:
"Ain't that Loving You Baby" total respect to DJ Fontana, his drumming gives me the shivers and the pacing of the song and Elvis's singing is awesome until even he can't keep up and it breaks down in laughter. Surely this song represents the genesis of R&R drumming as an artform in itself?
"It is No Secret" whatever mixing or remastering they did Elvis was sitting beside me on the sofa singing this one, I don't think I'd ever dare listen to this on headphones I think it would freak me out, the clarity of the mix.
"Treat me nice" the piano accompaniment to this sounds so like the american folk song "Shortenin' Bread", which I think matches perfectly the theme of the song - would surely have distracted from the song itself though if retained!

The sound quality is amazing, as I type this I'm listening again to it on my PC and its amazing to think these were recorded 50+ years ago and we can hear them with such clarity and the asides and directions between songs do give that feeling of being there.

If you haven't got it yet do - or hint hint hint to pals coming up to your birthday, a total audio-visual winner.

Oh God.. AND IT HAD TO BE THIS MUCH MONEY.
Of course it's worth it! Just wish I had that dough to spend.. hmmm. Anybody know of anywhere that's carrying this or selling it? There's only one on eBay, and it's selling a little over face value.

A useful site about FTD Releases is ELVIS UNLIMITED... in Denmark (FTD is pressed by BMG-Sony Denmark)

They list all the FTDs and which are deleted, on one page, with track details...

LINK ---->>>> http://www.elvisunlimited.com/frontpage/ftd/

FLASHBACK does have a lot of rare pictures (although now most of them are in Various Elvis sites Photo Gallery's
a lot of the tracks are on other more complete session FTDs (ie the 2 volumes of Jailhouse Rock)

Of the books (with CDs) from FTD... Ken Sharps Writting for the King is more interesting.

Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Jouni also recommended a site to me, which is quite useful.

Good to know it's worth it!

It's called Writing for the King?
