Sad to hear and read that this set was not "re-mixed" from the 24 bit tapes ... and there is faults in songs been clipped and some of the soundtracks not sounding great!.
Ernst said that those who own the Presley session tapes will go back and re-do all the masters again ... last time been 2007. Keep buying FTD and you will get those better masters ... again! and again and etc etc!. Well done to those who bought it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/notworthy.gif) -------------------- |

WOULD LOVE IT BUT IT WOULD END MY MARRIAGE, WITH THE UPCOMING FTD PRICE RISE I WILL HAVE TO BE PICKY WITH THOSE.

I was very lucky to get mine. I had been out of work for sometime, and with a stroke of luck I was able to get a few months temp work. I decided to treat myself at Christmas with getting this boxset, cause I never knew if I was gonna be kicked back into the dole que lol.
Very happy with my purchase, however I don't like how the CD's are placed, so I backed them for concerned purpurse heh. |

Is it less worth it, then? -------------------- |

Anyone know if there is any books or photos included with the set ? Hi everybody here - I'm a newbie on this board and it is just great and has a lot of interesting topics. Yes, there is a small book included in the set, also with pics. But much more interesting are all the CDs (30 pieces). It's really a expensive thing to buy, but imo it is worth the money. I purchased it for around 450.- €. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif) -------------------- The biggest part of Elvis Presley was his big heart. It was full of love for everyone

The complete masters are not worth the money to buy.
If you have the FTD releases and the recent regular outings of Sony, you have it all ! If you are wise enough to buy japanse minlp cd's you have the even beter sounding than anything else of the regular releases. I bought also the complete masters numbered first run. btw he second runvis the same without a number and signature of Ernst. I seriously regret it, twice , somebody offered me €1300 for my set and I said no.... (What was I thinking..) Finally I sat down and started to compare the masters, the serious new releases by FTD where an upgrade the regular masters , the japanse masters were miles ahead ... I love the package quality !! bit too big but the music is what counts and I seriously overpaid. Other fact, the beatles released the year previous a stereo and mono box , also completely remasterd masters it took them 5 years to do only their albums , The ELvis catalog is much bigger and it took only 2 years to do it .. sure .... if they would have done that from the multi tracks , we would ahve had a dream complete masters box... |
