Those King Creole Acetates are more or less fakes with faked count ins..
They used count ins from movies like Blue Hawaii to make the takes more real. If you listen closely you find repetition of takes...sorry to say this.. This release is a rip off..the cover art ..however is excellent... -------------------- |

I had never heard of them before, and I was surprised that there were unreleased takes from King Creole! So it seems that there's nothing new here really - a shame. The covers are still magnificent though Chris - you seem to be getting better with every cover... -------------------- Ian.

What we have of King Creole Is take 3, 18 (alt master) from Jan. 15th,1958 (released on King Creole 97). take 13 (master) from Jan. 23rd, 1958. But never a total of 9 different takes.....!!! -------------------- |

But never a total of 9 different takes.....!!! the LP King Creole Acetates was released in 1987 (label Creole rec. 456) it contains 10 versions King Creole / 3 versions Crawfish / 3 versions Steadfast loyal and true / 9 versions As long as I have you / 3 versions Lover doll the LP originates from a cassette tape with all fake take numers / several versions are speeded up or slow down to give you the impression that's is an alternate take. this tape was used by a " money maker " to release the LP but is total fake and not worth to have it in any collection the original selections were available on the LP: " From the beach to the bayou " and the later pressing " Beach to the bayou " and some more LP's even on both LP's were wrong count in and take numbers announced but still original. with the exception of King Creole track EX take 13 (unrepaired guitar solo) most of the King Creole alternates were released on CD Essential Elvis vol. 3 and only a few as mentioned are known to exist. colonel snow -------------------- |

Chris, I can't see any designs, am I doing something wrong? Hi there, Glad to see you posting (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif) Most of these old threads refer to the old Nightrider Site. That one is now off line and i am in the middle of building a completely new one. The designs will be back soon...once i have gotten three or four new covers to "re-open" the artwork section.
