Elvis-TheKingsCourt _ U-V-W _ Walk a mile in my shoes.

Posted by: Tigerman May 28 2005, 11:57 AM

Walk a mile in my shoes.
February 1 dinner or January 26 opening show?

01 All shook up
02 That's all right
03 Proud Mary
04 Don't cry daddy
05 Teddy bear/ don't be cruel
06 Long tall Sally
07 Let it be me
08 I can't stop loving you
09 Walk a mile in my shoes
10 In the ghetto

Baxter has written that this is the February 1 8:00 pm show. But other sources claims that, this indeed his the first part of the January 26 opening show.

Hey guys! I was just listening to my copy of this, it's an original. I was wondering if everyones copies has those little cracks throughout the cd? It sounds like it was lifted right off of an LP. Any input about this would be appreciated. Thanks

This cd is known to have "cd rot". I think it is that what you have Matt, beacuse as far as I know this cd isn't taken from vinyl.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding the show itself: It's excellent. I find this 1st 70's version of That's All Right highly interesting and exceptionally well performed. It's also very diffrent to both the later show opening versions and the "accoustic" versions from '74 - '77.

Interesting also to hear the Walk A Mile In My Shoes / In The Ghetto "medley"

mine's not an original and still i can't hear any cracks that would make you think it's from an LP. What i have sounds more like a little mike overload (very little)

according to the Joan Deary notes on the tape legend it's " poor quality with severe mike overload "
(you're right Gordon)

btw just listened to the whole cd so i can comment a bit better (though still, it's not the original)

Mike overload is more noticeable isn certain tracks than others...especially since E puts more strength into his voice.

as for the CD-rot thing i noticed my copy has the problem during Don't Cry Daddy...but you would know that is not anything like the LP cracks!

Well that's just great. Another cd that isn't worth nothing due to the age of it, obviously these imports aren't made of good quality cds. I have cds older than this one and they are still like new. Kinda makes me wonder if it's worth collecting these after all

This is the case with only a handful of real cd's as far as i know. But since i'm not into originals...you should ask some expert about which onesa have this problem.

As far as bootlegs are concerned....there are very few that are know to suffer from CD Rot....Sadly, this is one of those

Does sound like your copy has it Matt. They way you can tell 100% for sure, is hold it up to the light. If its got Rot...you will see "cracks" on the disc surface ( looking from the back through the disc ).

Thanks guys for the info. It's good to know that this is something that doesn't happen to often

hello matt

do you have an original pressing or a counterfeit/re-pressing of the CD.
the original CD has matrix CD 2092 stamped in the middle.

it's known that certain re-pressings of There's always me series etc have CD rot.

now I have checked my copy too and noticed that I have the same problem;
on the front side are small wholes in the CD where you look like into a mirror; the back side is not flat but look it has small pox.

the original CD goes out the collection right now ( I have a safety copy ).
